Service from Jordan on the carvery deck was excellent ??

Shelley Brennan

Service was good and where we sat on long table with a big fireplace and twinkly lights made us feel so welcome

First time in Wales and this pub was recommended. I like to visit first and make up my own mind, rather reading the reviews. And what can I say. Friendly staff, very helpful and service with a smile ☺️ didn't have long to wait for food from the menu (scampi & chips). Which came out very hot and well presented, a Carvery on tap. All of which are great prices! Definitely, would visit again and next time, try the Carvery!

Called in for lunch ..opted for the carvery ...what a load of rubbish!! Only 2 meat options available as the Roast ham would be ready in 15 mins ..Decided to just have Turkey and beef ..turkey was nice although not offered extra to compensate for Ham not being ready .The beef was the end of the joint shriveled..dry gristly......the roastes were hot as we asked for fresh ones ..the mash was watery and cool ..the rest of the veg had been sat under the heaters far to long to be nutritious..No thankyou .The gravy was barely warm and lumpy .Very poor quality today .Hence did not enjoy lunch one bit .The salt pot had been filled with pepper and my partner covered his food with pepper..I did mention it to staff ..they offered to replace his meal ...We just wanted to get home .We will not be frequenting this establishment again .Never had food like this before ..how the chef could call himself a chief and allow food to be served like this is beyond me !!!

Called in today after work for lunch, used bells for years and found today’s visit for carvery very disappointing. Only two meats available at the time was told would have to wait 15-20 mins for gammon ham. Beef was a scrag end which you would give to your dog, they brought a new piece of beef out but gentleman behind counter still gave my partner the scag ends of beef. Veg was old probably been sat there for a hour or so, had to ask for roast potatoes as there was a couple of burnt offerings left. Gravy bowl was virtually empty. Don’t know if it’s under new management but don’t think I’ll be calling in again in the near future

Sunday carvery, you could drink the veg through a straw it was that soggy. Turkey, very dry. Vegetarian menu, absolutely shocking, they pulled out 2 meat free chicken slabs and cooked it with no flavour, no, butter, no herbs and it was as dry as the sun's backside. Just because a vegetarian goes to a carvery, doesn't mean they should eat any less in quality.Tables are very sticky. No one came to clear up the plates while we sat. We then attempted to order dessert, Sundaes, and while they agreed to serve the person in front a sundae, we were told, no more sundas, at 7PM. If they would have informed us prior to be seated that desserts were off the menu we would have eaten elsewhere.£150 down the drain (without dessert). We decided to leave and needless to say (and as a local resident) will not return even for a free meal. I honestly don't know how this franchise makes a profit. I can only guess they fleece gullible seasonal travellers.
