Visiting Wales for the first time and decided to eat here. The food was amazing and so tasty, we had the battered cod and a steak ciabatta. The service was very good and sat us down at a table with a nice view. The restaurant was so clean, tidy and very welcoming.

Looking for a dinner reservation on a Friday evening and leaving it until the last minute is never a good move, especially when your first two choices are fully booked. Took a chance on Teifi Waterside Hotel based on their Google Maps rating and recent reviews, despite the fact that the don’t have a website and therefore no menus posted online. We had to rely on a picture of the menu some previous reviewer had kindly posted. The main part of the restaurant was a very large room. Clean and modern. Building work going on outside suggests possible expansion, so business must be doing well. Promising sign. The restaurant wasn’t busy which meant it was unnecessary for us to have booked the table 20 minutes before arriving. This surprised me because the views of the river are breathtaking. Our server took our food order without writing anything down. Bit of a red flag for me. Some are able to remember the orders, including requests to slightly alter the dish or advise of the choice of potato accompaniment. Ours wasn’t, but more of that later.A starter of sweet potato soup served with sourdough bread for me was superb. Others in my party had starters of halloumi sticks and sourdough bread, of which there were no complaints.About 30 minutes later the mains arrived. I could understand the delay if the restaurant was busy but as I said it wasn’t and there were 3 servers on duty. My baked salmon, potatoes and peppers was okay but never worth the £21 charged for it. Even in today's inflation ridden society.Others in the party had salmon in the bag. This is where the lack of writing the order down became an issue. That dish came with chips and a request was made to replace the chips with rice. ‘Not a problem’, replied the server. Dish arrives. Guess what was accompanying it? First mistake.Another of the dishes was pie of the day: chicken and leak, which came with a choice or mash or chips. Chips were the preferred choice. 50/50 chance of getting it right. Wrong. My dinner guest advised that the mash was the worst he had tasted. Not good.I did something I rarely do in a restaurant and that is pay for the bill and leave no tip. If the service is adequate I have no issue with leaving a gratuity. However, on this occasion I would have had a hard time justifying such a gesture. No dessert. Couldn’t wait to get out of there and up the road. Second last night of our stay in Wales so we had hopes to end it on a high. Serves us right for not being on the ball and booking something earlier.Overall: poor service and over priced. The setting and views are stunning, however.

Very welcoming and has one of their specials which was lobster which was superb. Great views across the estuary and very attentive service.

The view is stunningThere has clearly been a lot of time and money spent making this place beautiful inside and out however the food is just lacking.Very limited menu consisting of basics, there was only about 6 main courses and all were about £17. Which for fish and chips regardless of view is very pricey. The food itself was okay, nothing to write home about. If the food is bought up to the standard of everything else this place would amazing.Still some work to do

We went here as it had a Google rating of 4.9. Unfortunately this was a very poor experience. We weren't offered the complimentary 'Nibbles' while we waited. Our waiter said my wife's starter wasn't on the menu, which it obviously was as we ordered it, however it only turned up after we had complained and me and my daughter had finished ours. I had to go to the bar to order a second round of drinks, even though it was table service. The main meal of mussels has many shards of shell, which was way more than I would expect. I talked to the manager that was on that evening and they did apologise for our experience. In the end we went to another local pub for pudding!
