My husband booked a surprise weekend away for our 10th wedding anniversary at was was one of our favourite places to relax and unwind. But my goodness how things have changed! The cost of the 2 night stay has almost doubled from when we stayed in September 2020 ( £220pn on a DB&B rate and to be charged £750 for the same experience is daylight robbery!!) and from what he was quoted on the telephone. Part of the excuse of this excessive charge was we were booked into a higher grade of room than we normally stay in and disappointingly the room is overlooked by other balconies meaning we had to close the curtains for privacy had we been in the room we requested and usually stay this would not have been an issue. Up on check in we were promised the duty manager would speak with us the following morning. That didn’t happen. Having gone down to the village for a few hours on Saturday and returning to a room that hadn’t been made up only to be informed by the lady at the spa that you have to request it. At the spa the showers were cold and there was a smell of sewage outside the sauna area (staff were notified). Eggs on the breakfast were either hard or undercooked over the 2 days. Dinner in the evening was incredibly slow service and the bar manager hadn’t notified the restaurant manager that we had arrived so sat for quite a while waiting while others went right in. The supplement on some of the meals has increased; and now on the DB&B option it’s only 2 courses which we were not notified ( as far as I’m concerned if you pay for a DB&B option it’s 3 courses and no supplement) my husbands dover sole was ok but the potatoes were like bullets and not as described on the menu or member of staff that served us. We checked out before using The spa on the second day and had to have a cold shower as the problem from the day before was not rectified. It would have been nice if the receptionist had informed us of this and let us keep the room for another few hours. The complimentary teas and coffees in the spa were stone cold on both days and on day 1 after using the spa we tried to order a snack only to be told the kitchen was closed eventually after what seemed like a faulty towers scene we were begrudgingly allowed 1 ham sandwich between us for over £9. My husband spoke to the general manager on checking out Sunday and was assured a call back by Tuesday. My husband finally spoke to manager the following Saturday the issues have still not been resolved and are awaiting a call from the owner by Monday as promised by the manager. We are so disappointed with how the hotel is being run now and it spoilt the whole weekend for what should have been amazing from what we have experienced over the years. Upon checking out our bill had several errors and other checking out had the same experiences as us!! I am sad to say that We will not be returning !

We returned to St Brides after 8 years and it was as relaxing and enjoyable as the first time. The staff are pleasant and helpful, the food is divine and the accommodation is first rate. The spa is tranquil and looking over the bay from the infinity pool is a truly surreal experience. We had ideas of long walks but ended up relaxing in the peaceful surroundings and the sea air. The bickering seagulls are an added extra! But a salient reminder that this is their home we are sharing.

I have been to spas all over the world. This spa is absolutely lovely. The location is beautiful and unique for the UK. The staff are professional, friendly and incredibly attentive. I am super fussy and I am used to a high level of service… at this spa I did not have to ask for anything. This level of customer understanding is incredible.

Hotel is very clean and nicely decorated - modern and fresh. On arrival, We found a space in the car park easily and went straight to reception - check in was easy & quick. Our room was spacious and clean. Nice touch for the hotel to provide fresh milk in the fridge. Much better than the long life cartons you would usually get else where. The shower curtain was the biggest letdown, they are not very hygienic, and I don’t get why they are still used in hotels. Apart from this, room was lovely. Bar area was nice, great views. A little bit confusing with ordering drinks - were we meant to go to the bar, or was it table service?! Food was delicious - we couldn’t fault it. We had a 3 course evening meal and breakfast. Great choice, all came out hot. Friendly staff. My only Criticism would be the breakfast service. They were very short staffed. Although The two staff that were working, were doing an excellent job, they were rushed off their feet. They could have done with a couple more people to help with service and ease the pressure. They were very friendly and professional, although you could tell they were very busy and had lots to do. Also the refilling of the orange juice was very strange- they were refilling the juice dispenser with tiny jugs. As soon as staff were refilling it, guests were using it and it would be empty again within seconds. But this could have been down to the short staff issue- perhaps they usually re-fill it in a better way, ensuring it’s full at each refill. Guests were constantly asking for more, as it was to low to pour any juice into their glasses. Spa was lovely - great views from the infinity pool. The area was very clean and well maintained. Lots of clean towels available. Tea/coffee was a nice touch in the spa - you were able to help yourself, and they also provide magazines. We had a great stay & hopefully be back again soon.

I have stayed in many hotels all over the world, but there are lots of little things that make this hotel a 5 star hotel. Postives the breakfast and evening meals were outstanding. The rooms are very small, we paid extra for sea view, which is lovely, but there are bo blinds, so you have to close the curtains otherwise the houses near by can see into your room. We had to ask to have a shower curtain put in, all these little things make a difference and should be checked before you check in. The rooms are quickly cleaned and wd could tell, the room wasnt hoovered. The spa and pool facilities are nice, but the tiles are dirty and clearly not cleaned daily. The drinks prices are totally ridicilous, I would pay these prices in London, but not in saundersfoot, ita not Monaco. I just think the prices that are being charged for the rooms are not not justifiable at all. Me personally, we enjoyed our 2 nights stay, but would not rush back. We had the dining escape deal which includes brwakfast and dinner.

Mixed experience. Our room was good - but it was billed as the top end option. Clean, comfortable. Whilst the bathroom was clean it shows its age. Shower over bath with a plastic shower curtain is not what you expect in a £400/ night room. Walk in rainfall shower at this price. The restaurant was disappointing. Service was chaotic and uncoordinated. Really, really basic stuff not being done correctly. We complained but it didn't make any difference. Same at breakfast on two mornings. Whoever is responsible for training the team isn't doing their job. We ate at Coast on our second night. Three times the customers and fewer staff and it worked like clockwork

We stayed in a lovely room with a view over Saundersfoot Beach and the staff were helpful, polite and generally attentive. The stay was for 4 nights and we were walking during the day so the spa for 90 minutes in the late afternoon/evening was a very pleasant treat on our return. In practice 90 minutes is more than enough time to get the body warm and the blood flowing after a hike in the the blustery conditions. The breakfast was lovely and freshly cooked ( Michelle was a particularly helpful member of staff). If I had any criticism it would be that the evening menu didn't change so that there was a limited range for vegetarians and people with allergies...but the food we ate was delicious and made the whole stay a very pleasant experience.

My husband and I arrived here last weekend, not a great start as we had a long journey and were not happy with our room. Was pretty basic and although clean was clearly not warranting the hefty charge. Reception staff were miserable and unhelpful, breakfast was underwhelming and busy we had to wait for a table even though we had to book a time! Food was average, husband was happy with his, my poached eggs were undercooked( raw) each morning on one side. Spa, was freezing cold on Saturday couldn’t stay in pool it was uncomfortable, the areas with the sauna and steam rooms stank of drains and the rain shower needs some maintenance. A real let down. The worse thing was the about of people taking photos and filming in the pool. It was also extremely busy not relaxing at all. All in all not the best stay we love Saundersfoot but will not return again.

Booked a 'Best Double Room with Balcony and Seaview', had room 206 which was probably the nicest room in the hotel, paid £390.00 B&B Friday night. Arrived early with intention of using the Spa and then enjoying the room, was told that we could only use the spa once during our stay and only for 90 minutes. Spoke to the duty manager Lucy who was polite and professional, but i really cant get over how at this price, and this location, you cant use the pool more than once during your stay, the spa is most likely the main reason for staying at this hotel. Lucy advised this was so all guests could enjoy the facilities without being crowded, but at the same time was offering a further visit for an extra £35 each, this completely undermined the whole rational behind no overcrowding, if you can pay extra then overcrowding obviously doesn't matter i guess. Lucy resolved the issue as best she could, but this really put a bad atmosphere on the stay. Mixed experience with staff, the receptionist who checked me in was lovely and accomodation, the other receptionist sat at the door to the bar looked at me with continual suspicion and was not polite or welcoming. After sitting in the bar for 1.5 hours waiting for the room to be ready i asked the housekeeper myself when it would be ready, the receptionist by the bar door was very much computer says no and would not call housekeeping to check. While sat in the bar it took 45 minutes for someone to come over and take an order, when i stood at the bar for a short period people were going back and forth between the restaurant and didnt pay me any attention so I gave up and drank my own drink a soft drink i had in my bag. The young lady who sat me down for breakfast seemed to be having a really terrible day, not particularly welcoming and didnt explain the hot option, however the older lady with dark hair who took my order was really pleasant and carrying the team. Checkout was the same computer says no receptionist, she handed me my bill and didnt ask if i had a nice stay, was dreadful, i did not feel valued at all. The room was nice, the big corridor promised more than the room offered, but it wasn't tiny. The views were amazing and the room tastefully decorated. The corner small window had an odd set of blinds that couldn't be fully opened so they don't obstruct the window, and still had the shop marks on the top of them, a shame as this would have been a cosy corner to sit without having to go outside this time of year. Coffee in room was a tea bag thing that leaked coffee beans into the drink, i also ripped one in half trying to open the packet, which went all over me, for this price point something a bit better would be expected. Other amenities were fine, though nothing special. Overall i had a good stay spoiled by the access to the pool and some customer service, it really felt like i was being ripped off at this price point. Considering how awful i felt at point of arrival, my stay wasnt that bad, which goes to show how nice the hotel can be. Its a real shame and i hope they resolve this, especially on the more expensive rooms.

My husband and I enjoyed a recent 4 night stay and the hotel did not disappoint! Staff throughout are friendly, helpful and courteous and we thoroughly enjoyed the excellent food. Our sea view room was spacious and well appointed with excellent views. Looking forward to returning next year.

Amazing service, facilities, food, and rooms. The customer service is by far the best I’ve experienced, the restaurant staff were so lovely and really made us feel comfortable. Food is delicious and the spa is very relaxing, towels and water jugs around the area. Spa staff also very friendly. Also very good parking area and location.

I came with friends for a spa break. We had a fabulous time, the staff were superb, friendly and helpful. Our room was lovely, spotless and well supplied. The spa itself was so good, we loved the relaxing lounge with herbal teas and the pool overlooking Saundersfoot beach was amazing. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

If you factor in location, amenities, service , quality of food and cost then St. Brides has to be one of the best hotels in the UK. Our most recent visit was only for an overnight stay unfortunately but it was long enough to enable us to totally relax. The infinity pool overlooking the bay is simply stunning. The evening meal was superb, as was breakfast the following morning. Our room was delightful with the appreciated fresh milk in the fridge alongside chilled water. I thoroughly recommend this hotel if you are in need of some relaxation.
