Idyllic

Bym Welthy (the bymster)

Steve and his crew served up a STUNNING Sumday roast dinner. chicken for me, lamb for my wife. nut roast and beef were also available. plate piled high with delicious vege and meat: roast parsnip, potatoes, carrots with mashed sweed, steamed medly of vege including chard cabbage and courgette and a stonking huge Yorkshire pud. the star of the show was an unusual addition that punched through with vibrant flavour it involved a roast or grilled tomatoes and possibly Kimchi?? the grave was also a show stopper. the portions defeated us both, luckily we had our four legged friend to snaffle away any embarrassment of left overs!bottles of Bluestone Brewery s finest kept me jolly while my wife sampled the tipple from the mayor of St. David's that Steve brought in!!would recommend highly. honestly 10 out of 10. maybe loose a half a point for no salt and pepper, serviettes brought to table outside. but no loss to be able to eat in the fresh sea air and see the sun sparkling off the estuary.

Lots of potential but didn’t quite hit the mark for us on this lunch visit. We were told that some menu items we wanted were not available only after we had our drinks and tried to order food. Scampi and chips was average, however the house calamari with Asian salad was very tasty. We also ordered a side of skin on fries but were served chunky chips - upon checking, we were told that these were the only chips they had at the moment. We would have preferred to be given the choice to change our minds or remove them from the order rather than be served an alternative without consultation.

Just want to wish Steve and all the staff at 35 every success for the future. Popped in for coffee and cake today and were met with a lovely warm welcome.

Had an excellent meal at Thirty Five. The new manager and chef were very friendly and attentive. The food was wonderfully fresh we will be coming here again. Definite reccomend.

After leaving a review for Hannah regarding very slow service I received a horrid retort. Maybe if you took constructive criticism, then maybe you could move forward and make improvements instead of making shambolic excuses, as stated the place is in a gorgeous setting and food was fine. Customer service not so x

A real find! Best meal I’ve had in Solva in 40years visiting. A warm & welcoming atmosphere on a blustery day, fantastic welcome & service from Hannah’s partner, best seafood stew I’ve had, delicious garlic bread & really tasty truffle & Parmesan fries. Empty when we arrived it soon filled up & lots of happy diners if all ages around us. Dog friendly too. We’ll be back soon.Food & drinks: Just great!

Called in for coffee after walking off the headland. After you get passed the very awkward sliding door to enter (who has sliding doors as a main entrance) I had to start up the conversation with the member of staff asking if they could do a simple coffee. There was no welcome even when they saw me arrive. But the person was not rude and was friendly. I was told no food as kitchen was closed. (2.30) My coffee was mediocre, not lovely but not horrendous and arrived quickly once I was served. Its a lovely setting and could be amazing. But I have to say, if you want to feel valued as a customer visit the Cambrian up the road. I really want to support local businesses and read previous poor reviews with response asking to support local business. Im sorry but just didn't feel this place really cared but perhaps there are difficulties and if you want to get local business support, people might be expecting a minimum of a warm welcome. Would I return , probably not.

Wowzers, what a fantastic restaurant.Situated in the heart of Solva, it is adjacent to the small river which gently trickles into the harbour. There is an lovely outdoor patio area although we chose to dine indoors on account of the sun bearing down on one of the hottest days of the year!Great menu choices that I should think would suit every taste. Started with the garlic mushrooms, whilst my other half had the breads with dips. For the mains, I had the fish and chips and partner had the battered halloumi. Generous portions, everything cooked to perfection, and must mention the batter as it was so light and crispy. Could only manage a coffee afterwards as we were stuffed! All the staff were ever so pleasant and welcoming, and as an added bonus, the place is Dog Friendly.Highly recommended, and well worth a visit if you are in the area.

Came to Solva with our anxious dog, so eating out has been a bit of a challenge. This place was an amazing find. The fish and chips were superb and still hot by the time we got back to our cottage. Really good size portion, batter was really light, fish was cooked to perfection and I want to know how they cooked their chips because these just made the meal. The young lady that served me was lovely and a real credit to you.

Arriving as two customers for breakfast at 11am , we asked to order and we’re told no orders could be taken until 11.15am, so we waited outside. At 11.15 am I went back in to order again, this time I was told sorry chef doesn’t think he can take anymore orders. Why not say at 11am so we could leave and get breakfast somewhere else. A very annoyed customer who won’t bother to return.

We had a great family lunch today - and there were 7 of us! I arrived later than the rest of the family, so the server understandably and politely advised me that my order probably wouldn't come out at the same time. We chose to sit outside, the perfect way to enjoy the view of the harbour and stream busily making its way to the sea. My sister in law prefers her latte in a cup rather than the traditional glass; she forgot to ask and the latte was delivered in the glass. She popped inside to ask if it could be changed and in an instant the latte was decanted without comment into a cup. It may not seem much but I've been with her in other places where the staff have been less than accommodating of her request. The food arrived and frankly I was amazed! The Spaghetti Carbonara ordered by my niece looked delicious and was a very generous portion; the seafood pasta ordered by another family member looked incredible. Yes, there were fat juicy prawns and plump mussels in their shells, but there were mini squid which were apparently really tasty and perfectly cooked. The fish and chips, steak with flatbread and calamari (served with seaweed delicately seasoned with sesame) were all equally as tasty and beautifully presented. And mine arrived about 2 minutes after the rest, so hardly a delay at all and clearly the server had relayed the fact that I was with the order for 6! We'd seen some critical reviews but our experience was one of helpful, friendly staff who served excellent and reasonably priced food. And the spaghetti carbonara which my niece was unable to finish was placed into a cardboard carton to take away. Congratulations to the owner on her new baby and thank you to front of house and kitchen staff alike for a lovely experience today.
