Lovely time here. Attentive waitress. Lovely food, freshly cooked with al la carte menu. Great bread & butter pudding too. Nice choice of wines which were reasonably priced. Look forward to visiting again

We went for Sunday lunch. We turned up on spec and although we were told it would be an hour, it took only 20minutes. The food was excellent and the service was very efficient.Dog friendly.

O’ what a shame; 26 years we have been freqguentinging the Portreeve Restaurant whenever we stay at Laugharne, usually 2-3 times a week. Regrettably tonight we were devastated by the food delivered, I had to send back my Sea Bass fillet because it was so overcooked, a Sea Bass fillet crispy!! They then provided a Hunters Chicken replacement, well! Microwaved, overcooked, I don’t know what!! Yes, I eat it because I wanted to eat something before leaving. My recommendations to Portreeve is to let me know, via social media or any other means when you have a chef in place who can actually live up to the Portreeve reputation.Such a shame, we have had some wonderful times and food at the Portreeve.

We had not booked so were delighted that they were able to fit us in. They were certainly full as we heard them turning others away. We had our (small well behaved) dogs with us as the sign said they were welcome. They warned us they only had Sunday roast available and there would be a little wait and it was worth waiting for. We couldn't choose which meat to have so plumped for all 3 for £2 extra. The lunch was well presented and came with all the accompaniments for each meat (Yorkshire pudding, pigs in blankets, roast parsnips and roast potatoes). We ordered 1 portion of cauliflower cheese. Then cabbage, swede and boiled carrots were served separately with a jug of tasty gravy. We ate the lot - very happy customers :)

So SO good. Biggest lobster I've ever seen in a restaurant and perfectly cooked along with melt in the mouth rib eye steak. Just perfect.

Once again another fantastic meal... the pork melt was to die for..pork loin with sage stuffing and apple sauce, smothered in a grilled Welsh Cheese... a definite winner...hubby had a sirloin that was cooked to perfection ... thank you team portreeve

My wife and I had dinner here: we both had mussels to start, followed by sea bass and pork respectively. We both enjoyed the food (although we did think that at £17.95, the sea bass was a little expensive) and the service was good. All-in-all, a pleasant experience!

Lovely , friendly, courteous service. The chicken just melted in your mouth and the fish and parma ham was a delightful combination. Compliments to chef and staff. This was exquisite and good value.

We ate here during our stay at Dylan Coastal resort. It’s a nice walk to the restaurant. We had lovely food including the steak and lobster. Really delicious. Good service and lovely food. Would recommend for a relaxing meal.

4 friends out for last supper of the holiday; we ignored the advice of a local who recommended another restaurant as the menu looked good, especially the fish platter and surf & turf offerings @ £41 & £36 not cheap, but hey, it was 1/2 a lobster! Table wasn’t set, no glasses condiments etc. when asking for sauces i.e french mustard (for the streak) the only option was english and a noisy fan on a side table, it wasn’t hot inside…… Waitresses we attentive and polite although when quizzed about the menu, their knowledge was sadly lacking, with the exception that the custard for the the bread and butter pudding wasn’t home made. When the mains arrived, all three lobsters were over cooked and rubbery, the garlic butter dressing lacked any flavour, the peas salad & side salads were limp; overall poorly presented. We had to ask for wine which arrived after the mains, although both the white and red were pleasant. We were asked if everything was Okay, as a group of friends no one wanted to make a fuss by returning food, although afterwards we all agreed it was a poor meal. Would we eat there again, after spending £180 for the four of us, no starters, one standard priced main, two desserts and no bottles of wine (3 glasses) definitely not!!
