I am a nervous person going into a pub i hardly know especially when the rugby was on but i have to say that the royal oak is a special place in nelson. The staff are friendly and provide an excellent service.The outside area is excellent and clean with very modern furnishing. I enjoyed the ease of access paying with a card because who carries cash these days.This place has a main bar area and other areas i assume can be used for special functions.All in all this was a lovely friendly pub for the people of the local area but if you are visiting i would definitely recommend this establishment.
Pub has run out of ice. Bar staff should go to co op to help situation. Don't seem to care. Don't know if ice machine is not working. No information.
