A quaint country pub atmosphere, no draught pints only bottles but what a wonderful selection, all locally sourced beers, stouts & ciders. A well presented menu with locally sourced produce, Welsh bangers & mash were delicious.

An absolutely beautiful B&B with the most friendly staff you could ask for. Gordon was there for our every need and the food cooked by Darren was absolutely delicious, we could not fault a single thing about it. It’s in the perfect location and such a cosy pub to relax in after a day of hiking, we will definitely be returning and recommending this place to everyone!

After a 6 hour journey, the Gwesty was warm welcome. Gordon got straight behind the bar and poured us 3 pints - lovely start. To follow we had starters and a main each, all went down a treat. I’d like to thank the Gwesty for giving us safe refuge, and more importantly, cold pints. Thanks for having us, and hope to see you soon. Best, Marty

Before we talk about food, decor and the like, let me say this place provides an abundance of that ever decreasing commodity - hospitality! If your looking for high end, uniformed corporate accommodation, look elsewhere - if you want to kick off your shoes - feel welcome and cared for - enjoy plentiful home cooked quality food with clean and comfortable rooms, surrounded by stunning scenery - then look no further! The public spaces are teeming with character as you would expect in the middle of a Welsh valley, but clean, comfortable and relaxing - lovely!

This place sits in the most perfect location for walking the minfford path for Cadair Idris. Gordon is an absolute superstar and looks after his guests amazingly. The rooms are comfortable and spotlessly clean. The food is on another level…..outstanding! Following walking up Cadair Idris Gordon lit a log fire and made the lounge area comfortable and cosy! I can’t thank him enough for an amazing stay.

popped in for a beer while staying at the camp site nearby. The owner was very helpful and provided many interesting stories and advice. Also the flapjack was very tasty and good portion size. i would definitely recommend this.

Fantastic location to sit and enjoy a meal in the Mach loop. We had homemade soup and bread and it was delicious!! The owner was happy to share local knowledge.

Stayed for 4 nights with my Son for some Mach Loop photography. Hotel very clean & tidy, and the owner is friendly and hospitable. He regaled us with many a tale over a beer or two, and knowledgeable with all things Mach Loop related. Eat in the restaurant for two nights, the food was excellent and priced medium to high end. The cooked breakfast was of a high quality, just what you need in the mornings, plus a good choice of beverages, cereals, fruit and juices. The only word of caution I'll add is that the restaurant doesn't serve food on a Tuesday or Wednesday (apart from breakfast) so you will have to go elsewhere. There is nothing in walking distance therefore you will have to drive or get a taxi. The WiFi is sketchy at best, and there is no TV in the bedrooms due to lack of signal because of the surrounding hills.
