Table wasn't ready on arrival, last diners were still seated, so we had to wait over 20 minutes. Noisy, had to ask to place order. Staff very friendly, but obviously hard pressed to get round to everyone. My food was uninspiring, steak a bit gristly.

Went to this bar and grill last night the food was nice, my wife enjoyed the Cod and my Tuna and the Apple pie was nice, the staff are good. The downside sitting in the resturant it was cold.Try the Unicorn

Recommend here by a work colleague but will not be going back. Appalling service resulting in us having to try & get waiters attention on every order. No drinks offered, waited ages to take mains order and had to ask for desserts menu only to be kept waiting ages. Staff very abrupt & rude!Don't bother booking table service as you don't get it, you may as well book somewhere cheaper & get better service than this place!Such a shame as food was good but desperately needs to sort the waiter problem out.

A group of 9...Service from the start was below average, with the waiter coming across bored & irritated. The others seemed to be more or less the same.Food was exceptional, with a great presentation. Credit to the chef and the kitchen team although the whole place is being let down by the service.Damn it.. smile, be friendly and check on tables to make sure people are well catered for.

From the outside the place looks OK. Inside nicely decorated and arranged.Service was shocking. Waited 30 mins before taking our order. Then 45 mins for food. Had fish and chips. Fish was nice and hot, the chips were cold and looked like last night warm ups. When mentioned about them they said they can take away and warm them up. Which I said no thanks too. They were dry anyway. Not keen on the staff as all a bit sharp on response. They didn't have all the deserts so we picked something else. Nothing fancy tasting but presentation nice. Did ask for a jug of water with meal but never got either.Was a lunch for my daughters birthday so not good.Wouldn't go again. It wasn't even a quarter full but they said were delays on food.

They need to be clearer on the menu what is in their dishes. Also asked for mash instead of carrots and parsnips waitress agreed but then charged me extra anyway and laughed when I questioned why. The Sunday blade of beef looks like dog food.
We have been to turpins a few times over the years and even celebrated our engagement here but the experience we had today was terrible. I had a mixed grill & my wife had the pork & chicken skewers. The meat on the mixed grill was poor quality and the chicken on my partners meal was undercooked and was sent back to the kitchen but by the time it had come back we had already been put off and we never ate much more than the chips. The waiter knocked the £30 mixed grill off the bill however the food was that poor I didn’t feel I should of paid anything other than the drinks but I didn’t want to make a fuss and ruin other peoples meals as there were other tables close by.

Having been to turpins several times 6 of us went for a meal. My sister in law bit into her halloumi burger to find it still wrapped in plastic. While I appreciate even top restaurants do this to stop things sticking to each other before cooking it was the attitude. The 'manager' at first just took the price of the burger from the bill (SIL didn't eat it!) then said she was going to check the cameras. It was an appalling customer service and probably made us angrier than the plastic did. All the other meals were lovely but that whole attitude marred the rest of the meal
