Anniversary dinner at CVC, staff greeted us warmly and a surprise bonus with a couple of glasses of bubbly. Lovely food and very attentive staff, would very much recommend and look forward to a return visit in 2024! Keep up the good work ?

Didn't disappoint. Started off with a couple of cheeky cocktails before having a meal. Staff were really friendly and food and drink was perfect. We couldn't fault the night.

Decent atmosphere and decor. Over half full on a Monday evening in December which was nice to see. However, it was really cold. Sat next to a radiator which was off. Biggest issue though was the standard of the food when compared to the cost. £26 for the 2-course prix fixe menu was not unreasonable but the food was very average. Chicken that was really bland and I'm not exaggerating when I say the brussel sprouts were hard to the point of being inedible. My friend had a pasta dish which came with a side plate of fries which was pretty odd. Booked it as lots of places are closed on a Monday but won't be going back.

Omg the 3 course Sunday lunch was to die for. Scrummy garlic mushrooms to start, roast beef - beautiful with the tastiest veg ever and topped off with smooth creme brûlée and almondy cheesecake. Amazing value and such beautiful surroundings. We’ve already good our next visit

Absolutely 100%. Thank you for looking after all 3 generations of us in such a friendly, welcoming way for Sunday lunch. Both the starters (mushrooms & tomato + basil soup) were delicious and the mains (beef for one of us, sea bass for another and pasta for the 1 year old) were really good. Great service, very relaxing & relaxed local feel to the place. I will come back.

Really hope they continue with the Sunday lunches….great value for money in the best restaurant in Rugby ??

Had a party for 80 people for my big birthday. The whole experience was fabulous from start to finish. Nikki organised everything from the start . She sorted out the food menu , drinks and on the day it all worked like clockwork with exceptional food , drink and service It was a fabulous event and I would recommend it to anyone for a special party. Thankyou Cafe Vin Cinq for helping to make my birthday very special .

We visited Rugby last weekend and needed to find somewhere nice to eat on the Saturday night after a less than pleasant week.Online they were full but an email to Nicky and a phone call when they were closed soon got responses and they offered us a table . We were warned it was near the door and that they did not book it without specifically telling people . This was not a problem to us and we were more than happy to be booked in . The table was not adversely affected by people coming and going .I read trip advisor reviews and looked at the online menus .I made my own judgement that the food looked good and the ambience was good . Indeed the very fact online it was full says a lot !!I chose to ignore the less than pleasant couple of reviews and make my own judgement . I was not disappointed . ( neither was my husband !) We were treated like royalty by both Nicky and Anna . I even had a cocktail made that had not been on the menu since 2017 . It was served by the cocktail barman who had invented it …It was “navigation”and is delicious! I heartily recommend this .We had all 3 courses and were in no way rushed . All parts of the meal were very good and we were asked if we wanted more vegetables but the portions were very generous and this was not necessary .We had beef and crayfish as a starter , one each not together ,both very good and again ,generous portions followed by lamb and pork for mains We drank a bottle of gran reserva Rioja which was lovely and mellow .This was followed up by lemon crème brûlée and baked cheesecake ,also good . I have nothing but praise for this small independent business , even the toilets were immaculate! We had a lovely evening and left feeling very good . We live in Somerset but wish we were nearer as we would like to be regulars .We shall be back .

I hoped they would do better but I was disappointed. Celebrating my partner’s birthday, we arrived half and hour early and still didn’t mange to order a dessert before our time was up and we were asked to pay and leave. Don’t expect a relaxing meal. The starters were okay, I had scallops and my partner had feta parcels which she enjoyed. My steak was cooked rare as ordered, but my partner’s salmon was over cooked and some of her potatoes burnt. Who knows what the deserts we like!

We went for the Sunday lunch, a new venture for Cafe Vin Cinq. It was most definitely worth going for! We had the Prawn Cocktail/Garlic Mushroom starters, both of which were a good size, my prawn cocktail was how I like it, lots of lovely large prawns and not too much of the sauce, which was actually very nice and had a bit of a kick. Husband said the garlic mushrooms were just right, very tasty and not overpowered by the garlic. We both had the roast beef (it melted in your mouth), which came with Yorkshire pudding, honeyed carrots, cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli and roast potatoes. All the vegetables were just how I like them, al dente and not like mush, and the potatoes were crispy but fluffy on the inside! So much more tasty that way! The gravy was more of a Jus, but it was so very tasty. We had the creme brulee/sticky toffee pudding deserts and they were delicious. The price was great value for money and the service was second to none - we were well looked after but the staff were not intrusive. We will definitely be returning for the Sunday lunch menu, it really was spectacular. On a side note the one thing that I love about CVC is the fact that during the hour and a half we were there the toilet was checked and cleaned, and the staff washed their hands regularly. I have a low immune system so cleanliness is very important to me personally.

We came for a birthday celebration. The food was nice but the service was poor. We had booked at 6pm and knew that we had the table until 7.45. We had a drink, a starter and a main and by then it was about 7.25. A waitervasked us if we wanted pudding and we said yes but another waiter came to say that we wouldn’t have time to have pudding and bluntly asked us to leave. I asked if we could order pudding and take it to the cocktail bar but he said no. He showed no desire to accomodate us and was very rude. Will certainly nit go back there. The food was ok but not amazing.

Staff are attentive, friendly and efficient. Chef Andrew is a Master. The Mussels were all cooked to perfection and the lamb succulent. Heading up the cocktail bar afterwards we were greeted to a fantastic vibe, excellent selection of music and the bartenders adjusted the cocktails to our needs. Anything off menu, simply ask and they will endeavour to make it a reality.

We visited the restaurant for the first time, and as soon as we settled down, we could just tell that we were going to have a wonderful time. We were greeted by Anna, who btw is awesome, and made us feel so welcome. The restaurant hit every single note faultlessly. The ambience is lovely, The food was sublime. I won't give a critique of every dish...but I have to mention mussels. I've had moules mariniere countless times in Belgium...but never as good as here. Mussels large, plump, and soft as pillows, cooked with clotted cream, chorizo, vine tomatoes and and a julienne of vegetables. Awesome. You can have them either as a starter or as a main. This is the kind of restaurant that hits the sweet spot. Fine dining, with attentive staff, and without pretence. We cannot wait to return. ?

Best restaurant in Rugby and surrounding areas by far! We have been here for dinner last weekend and we could not fault it! Every detail, atmosphere, service and food was beyond imagination! They categorically serve the best steak in Warwickshire! Steak was cooked to absolute perfection and sauces absolutely delicious. The desserts aren't to be missed either as they were absolutely wonderful! Biggest compliments to the chef! Service is also worth a massive mention as they were all extremely attentive without being intrusive, nice and always there to look after us.An absolute gem of a restaurant in Warwickshire and if you have not yet been, please book a table and try for yourself :-) We cannot wait to return!
