Worst meal I’ve had it a very long time . Ordered 2 main meals , one came out very undercooked and plate coved in oil and the other meal was over cooked and rock hard . Send both meals back when they came back out they weren’t any better so we left. The excuse for the bad meal was that they had changed the oil in the fryers? Sat outside and it smelt like sewage. Bad service. Will never return.

If your stuck in the hotel next door this is the easiest option. The Beer is nice and fairly priced,with staff being attentive and friendly id say the pub side was good. Beer garden tatty with overflowing ashtrays. Restaurant not great ate here a few times it progressively got worse so walked to Nandos on the last night. Steak was over cooked and if you upgrade to sweet potato fries your charged more of the difference between the chips they have taken off. I ordered a burger and on lifting the bun it was burnt to a crisp,the lovely waitress who i think was having a night of it took it off the bill.I noticed lots of others returning theirs too.Im guessing because of Covid your now served at the salad bar.Dont stand too close if the young lad is dishing up as its all thrown in at great speed. Would i eat here again,if your stuck in the hotel theres little choice,just go for something the chef cannot incinerate.

i visited the bell and barge on tuesday. my server Amy was amazing! very attentive and always making sure we had everything that we needed. will definitely be coming back

Had a couple of disappointing visits in a row now and won’t be going back anytime soon. Firstly, I find the food quite overpriced for what it is. It’s not bad by any means but I could get the same quality at spoons or the hungry horse for less money. Secondly I hate the new salad bar rules. Someone has to serve it for you and only one table is allowed up at once. They say it’s because of covid but it’s clearly due to the fact they have figured out they are using less ingredients, as you feel like you can’t go back up. Also, it means you have to wait for ages before you can go up and your food ends up coming out in the meantime. The whole point was to go up straight away and eat the salad whilst your food was being prepared. I heard a couple of other people complaining about this too so I think it’s a really bad policy. It was the main reason I used to chose harvester over other places but until this policy is changed back I won’t be going again.

A good value breakfast with very good service but…. gluten-free option is nil! My wife was handed a staff file to work through what was gluten-free - not at all professional. There was nothing other than tasteless fruit. She took a chance with granola. Not only that but no gluten-free bread nor de-caff tea were available. Why are some restaurants not able to offer even gluten-free bread? We keep it frozen at home. Gluten-free is a medical issue whereas vegan is personal choice. Wake up Harvester. We will not return until things change.
