Great team of staff. All very welcoming and engaging.Food was excellent and good value. We stopped for 3 nights and could have stayed for a few more without running out of things on the menu that we wanted to try. There is also a small specials menu alongside the regular one.The rooms are spacious and comfortable. Stopping in February we were concerned that they may be cold, but this wasn't the case as they were plenty warm enough. The only small downside is that it is on a busy main road and the traffic noise can be heard in the front facing rooms.Overall though this didn't detract from our stay and we would fully recommend staying here.

Food & drinks: New years dinner booked with family - Unfortunately we did not experience a great dinner - my lamb was tasteless and looked like a burnt piece of beef, there was no beef on the menu but we were not told this until orders were being placed. There was clearly not enough staff for the amount of tables booked as we had to wait an age for gravy and condiments - the gravy was one jug between us and looked like dishwater (certainly not made separately for each meat dish) the roast potatoes were dry and no selection of vegetables (carrot batons and cabbage) both of which were tasteless. When the mintsauce finally arrived it was almost thrown on the table in a tiny pot with no spoon accompanying it. Mother ordered pork but thinks it was turkey (how would you know - tasteless and no crackling). No member of staff came to the table to check all ok - all in all a very disappointing dinner (I came home and made a sandwich ) if you’d like to see the proof I’ve posted on ‘rate my roast’ - quite amusing what some people thought my lamb was (certainly wasn’t edible that’s for sure)

The pub looks nice but food was nothing to write home about. Our table was by a door to the hotel part so people coming and going all the time . The place was not very warm .Food & drinks: Limited menu , I had sweet and sourIt was not very nice left most of it

The food was good and the front of house person was attentive. However after we had been served our mains she must have gone on her break! We had to ask to have our plates taken after we had clearly finished eating. This took about 15 minutes then we had to ask for a dessert menu and this took another 20 minutes. By now we had decided to go home and have the port and cheese there.

Called for the set price lunch having seen previous reviews and were very glad that we did. The ambience, food - in quality and quantity - and service were excellent. A thoroughly enjoyable experience.

Food and service were excellent but very disappointed about the cleanliness in the toilets particularly the male toilets.? requested toilets to be cleaned twice but nothing happened.
