This place gave me great Chinese food along with Nostalgia. If you are looking for the kind of a proper Pakistani/ Indian Chinese food then this is the place to go. The food was 10/10 for me and my family. I have found this place for Chinese food 10 times better than Oodle Noodles or any other halal Chinese restaurant. Throughout, the taste of the food was very subtle, I ordered chicken lollipops and wontons for starter, my main was chicken Manchurian, Chinese rice, Hong Kong chow mien and Kung Pao lamb with veggies. None of the dish was over powering. The whole experience was great, peaceful and kids friendly. You could find a prayer corner too.

We went with high expectations. We ordered a 16oz sirloin (medium) and a peri chicken beef combo (also medium) when the food came out the Beef was all well done. These aren’t steaks they’re thin slices of beef which are overcooked. We told the waiter (one and only) that the steaks were overcooked and well done when we’d asked for medium. No apologies but said he’d tell the chef and get us some more “steaks”, meanwhile everything else (sides and sauces) were getting cold. None of the other tables were cleared. The one waiter was clearly overwhelmed but even when we were one of only 2 tables left at the restaurant, no effort was made to clear up. I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone who knows what a steak is.

We reserved a table at Yaqub’s. After reading positive reviews, reservation online doesn’t work, I had to call in to confirm even though I made it online. The ambience is ok, however the floors were sticky! Not a great start. We ordered food and drinks, the waiter brought out 1 glass, a jug of water and 2 coke cans. We had to ask for additional glasses. Anyway, ordered our food and asked for our steaks to be spicy. The starters came out which were wings. Nice portion, doused in marinade. Side of salad. Great starter. Tasty, had a little punch. Steak sizes were generous, they came out and we were excited! Topped with caramelised onions! Presentation was good, fries were nice and crispy, salad seemed fresh with a nice dressing. The steak itself whilst it was cooked to perfection, lacked the spice we asked for. Their hot sauce is sweet so not to our liking, after asking for a better chili sauce they gave us the chicken marinade we had on the wings. So it kinda did the job. The side of vegetables unfortunately let this dish down. Not fresh, clearly frozen which is ok, but they were just warmed up and served. No seasoning, no taste to them. That was disappointing. In all, the meal was satisfying, very reasonable for the portions indeed! So value for money is great, it certainly is not a bad steakhouse at all. Worth the visit.Kid-friendliness: Kids meals are great. 4oz steak with 2 sides, or chicken nuggets etc.Parking: Had to park on opposite street. Was a little difficult.

It's so great having this great steakhouse in Bham! Great prices with great portions. I got a lamb ribs meal and a rib eye meal, both were delicious and full of flavour!

Yaqub's Steakhouse is a true delight! The portion sizes are huge, the staff is friendly, and the food tastes amazing. The steaks are cooked to perfection, with rich flavors that leave you craving more. A must-visit for halal steak lovers!

Yeah wasn't impressed by the steaks. We asked for medium Rib Eyes and it felt like the chef tried to pass an extra well done sirloin as our requests. My impression is that they don't really have an understanding of how to grill a good steak so will not being going back there anytime soon. Neither would I recommend any steak lover to pay them a visit.

I was surprised how terrible the food was, quality of steak was poor, poorly cooked, wings & chips & had some Chinese food it was all bad
Food was really tasty and freshly cooked. Thai soup was yummy and we really enjoyed American chop suey!! Will recommend this , try it ! It is delicious. Will go soon. ?

Excellent service, brilliant steaks. When I come down to Birmingham, this is the only steak house I eat in and come all the way from Glasgow. Its a shame they don't do food challenges as I had 5 different steaks and all the sides and smashed it.

They really enjoyed the reel beef burgersParking: Not too many options for parking.Once parked though it is a 2 - 3 minute walk and it's very close to a very busy junction.Wheelchair accessibility: There is wheel chair access and plenty of space inside to accommodate wheelchair at the tables.

The customer service is appalling and we waited 1 hour just for simple deep fried starters, we weren’t given any plates and cutlery only until requested. One of the starters was frozen in the middle and not once did the waiter apologise for this. Waited another 45 mins for mains and was extremely underwhelmed. The drab decor and lack of customers really set a disappointing atmosphere.
