Wow, where to start, fantastic and friendly staff, offering older member of family armchair to feel more comfortable, starter salmon fresh and tasty , Sunday lunch amazing. Couldn’t fault it anything. Definitely will be back

Went for afternoon tea with bottomless Prosecco for my daughter’s birthday. It was lovely. The food was tasty and there was plenty of drinks - tea, coffee and Prosecco. The staff were very attentive and the surroundings are amazing. The hotel dates back 500 years. Would highly recommend.

Nine of us dined in the Oak Room and despite there being a wedding reception there was no fall in the standard of the meal which everyone thoroughly enjoyed.

My wife booked a table for 4 to celegrate our 50th Wedding Anniversary and our friends' 25th wedding anniversary and phoned them before to clarify the time of our table i'e' 7.00pm ot 7.15 pm. We were appalled to find they had no record of the booking and were fully booked. They admitted that they do not have a system to confirm telephone bookings. Disgraceful. Needless to say we will never grace their doors again and will advise all our friends to avoid the place.

My husband and I had dinner here one night and afternoon tea on another day, both were very good. The quality and presentation of the food and value is excellent. It can appear a little dingy and dark, we had trouble reading the menu due to lack of light, but it's all about the character of the room.

You cannot beat the food served here, it is quite simply the best you can get anywhere. Beautifully presented and a multitude of flavours that mix so well and add to the whole dining experience. Well done, 1st class. Give the chef a raise!

Love this place, should have a michelin star. Nice little canope's before your starter and desert which you don't expect as it doesn't say on the menu. Staff are very friendly, nice atmosphere and the food is incredible for the price. Shame this place doesn't get busy, maybe it is because of the location and being a hotel, this place should be thriving
Great choice and taste. Good service and worth a visit. We both had the chicken and was so tasty. The chocolate brownie was amazing.

Lovely surroundings but unfortunately the lunchtime meal was of dissatisfaction.An additional £7.50 fee was added onto 2 steak meals which was advertised as a set price menu. Also an additional fee of £3.50 was added onto the desserts.The surloin steak was tough and not good value money.Not a good experience. We left feeling very disappointed.
