Brilliant service, tasty food mutton curry, rice and peas and fried dumplings. Tried the festive hot chocolate, chocolate with a shot of Bailey's topped with cream....delicious, I had 2. Highly recommended, plus there is the 2 tone museum that's well worth a visit.

Dropped in with friends for lunch before visiting the museum. Really warm welcome. Plenty of locals in addition to museum visitors. Shared portions of jerk chicken as well as a Carribbean Breakfast which included jerk sausage as well as the delicious ackee and saltfish. Washed down with pint (can) of Red Stripe. Very reasonably priced for the quality. I'd be a regular if I lived nearer.

This venue was recommended during a visit to Coventry to see a 2-Tone music event. The ‘Village’ didn’t disappoint - a wonderful trip down memory Lane for all lovers of 2-Tone/Ska music. The museum was filled with original memorabilia of iconic Coventry bands, including the car used in the ‘Ghost Town’ video by The Specials. The volunteer staff were extremely friendly, helpful and knowledgeable and made the visit even more enjoyable. Well worth the £5.00 per person entry fee. Would definitely recommend on a visit to this interesting City.

Popped in on our way to visit family, decided we would have breakfast as we had set off early morning and this was about 11am. The young lady behind the counter was lovely and polite and took our order, hubby had Carribbean breakfast and I had omelette. The prices are really reasonable and the food was delicious my hubby was over the moon with his breakfast.

After visiting the Coventry Music Museum, we decided to come here for a bit of lunch. The place is done out in a 2 Tone style with a great menu. Prices are very reasonable. Very friendly staff, and great tasting food, will with s visit,

Popped in after going to the music museum, had possibly the biggest sausage batch ever and a cracking cuppa. Staff were friendly, prices really reasonable and there was a lovely atmosphere.

This was a booking made for a Tennis group for roughly 15 people. It was for the restaurant part (which needs to be booked) which is Simmer Down as opposed to 2 Tone Cafe, which I can confirm is also excellent. The food is best described as authentic and innovative, the ackee and saltfish in yorkshire pudding is a great example of this and shows a great understanding of flavours and was enjoyed by all. The service from the staff was attentive and friendly, I made a number of requests which were all catered for and the whole team there went out of their way to accommodate us. The food is great and everyone who came thanked me for choosing Simmer Down, which was nice

Went to this little 2 tone cafe with my sister for a traditional curried mutton, rice and peas and I got myself an old Jamaican grape soda The atmosphere was very homely, music was on but not overly loud so we could enjoy a conversation and the staff were really polite and the food was Devine.

Called in for a snack before visiting the Music Museum next door, and wasn't disappointed with the choice on offer. From simple stuff like bacon rolls, through to more exotic dishes from the Caribbean there was plenty to choose from. We placed our order at the counter, a little less personal thanks to the big anti-Covid perspex screen, and studied the 2-Tone memorabilia adorning the walls and tables whilst waiting for our food. Our sausage & bacon batches with chips arrived hot and tasty, served on a large bread roll, and duly polished off with gusto. The staff were lovely and friendly, the place looked clean and well kept, and they seemed to have some "regular" customers dropping in whilst we were there (so always a good sign).

One of Coventry’s hidden gems, located at the 2-Tone Village, on the Wallsgrave Road CV2. Renowned for its English breakfast with a spicy twist or its delicious curried chicken. I totally love the decor in the cafe, everything’s decked out in iconic 2-tone imagery, including the ‘Rude Boy’ and ‘Rude Girl’ toilets. There’s a seating area outside which is lovely in the warmer months. It’s also got a licensed bar, so is a much more appealing alternative to going to the pub for lunch! They have a lovely size function room with its own bar and often hold live music events. It was the perfect place for hosting my 50th bday celebrations. They offer an appetizing range of hot and cold buffet options. Angela’s home made quiche was absolutely delicious and almost stole the show from the curried chicken and curried vegetable dishes! They’ve got a great sound system which is very easy to plug your phone in so you can put on your favourite playlist (no need to hire a DJ!). Thank you Angela, Alph and team for making my guests feel welcomed, relaxed and in the party mood. A great time was had by all.
