Very nice place. The atmosphere is very cool and striking. We had teas and coffees. The chai tea was delicious and the coffee was very smooth. The sizes of the teapots were large as well as the milk pots. The brownie was absolutely delicious. It is pricey but worth it for the taste and the atmosphere.

Eye watering price for a cup of tea. Average ambience despite beautiful building. Staff disinterested.

Had a tasty festive lunch. Friendly service.

Was disappointed in the food being overcooked however I believe it's the norm as everyone had burnt fish.Staff was ok however I expected management to have staff wear more professional attire than a coombe abbey jacket and casual shoe attire.

Used to come to this place every week with my girlfriend for some food and tea. But after the new management took over around 2 months ago it hasn't been the same. We would come around 2pm (closing time online says 5pm and outside it says 3pm) and we would be told that they are not taking any more orders or on a different occasion that they are fully booked even though both their rooms were empty. Besides that there is no internet access here with no WiFi and half the time the food is overcooked. Tea is good

We arranged this for my sister in laws 60th birthday treat. The setting is stunning. The staff were lovely but the food was well short of the mark. We had the festive afternoon tea.3 finger sandwiches and a scone which was dry and some mini cakes which were tasteless and mediocre in quality. It could be so much better with proper home cooking and tasty food. We were very disappointed as my sister in law had travelled a long way on a very cold day. There is no excuse for serving food that’s tasteless.

It is definitely a charming and quaint tea room, worth a visit.I ordered a cream tea. The pot of tea had two cheap tea bags inside, the ones you can buy in a supermarket. Disappointing really, I asked to have a pot of loose tea and they got me one straight away, which was good. However, how on earth such a renowned tea room even stocks cheap tea bags??

This was a birthday treat that we waited to have due to illness. We were booked in for 12.45 arrived a little early but were seated straightaway . We all had a festive tea, the table was really nicely laid with Christmas crackers. We asked for no mustard which they accommodated. The food was very nice, the sandwiches were really fresh and plenty of filling. The scones were delicious as were the pastries. We were kept supplied with tea and coffee. The staff were really friendly and nothing was too much trouble. It was a very special treat thank you.
Well St Mary’s Hall is utterly stunning. The staff were polite efficient and friendly. But the afternoon tea was very average. Disappointing, as it could have been amazing. Too many mediocre cakes and not enough savouries. The cakes are pretty ordinary and a lovely bit of home made Victoria sponge cake or a freshly made scone would have turned a bland plate of cakes into a delicious experience. But it’s a wonderful place and we were very impressed. Shame about the afternoon tea though .

Delightful venue. Had brunch items - Duck Scotch Egg and New York Deli club sandwich. Both were delicious but portion size was tiny for a brunch item. They would barely be sufficient for a starter portion on a menu. Would return but probably order something different if I was hungry!

This place could be amazing. The setting within the guild hall is beautiful however the service really let our experience down. The wait for our afternoon tea was around 40 mins which considering you have to pre order was a very long time. A number of times we waited a long time to catch a waitresses attention and in the end had to go up the bar to request some extra milk and some clean plates. Food was really good but the poor service really did let our experience down.

We had a family gathering, and the food and service was excellent. It was the first time my family members visited the UK and the location and food was lovely. I would definitely recommend this place, especially if you like to eat in a place with such a calm ambiance!! We had a big party of 8 and the staff were very helpful, and approachable! We got the scones and it was simply amazing and everyone in the family enjoyed it, i would definitely recommend getting it! :) Thank you so much to Mae, and Lovely for giving such an amazing experience to my visiting family members.
