Maybe pop in for a drink? The food was below par with potato less roast potatoes, under cooked vegetables especially cauliflower cheese!! Surely the cauliflower needs to be part cooked before throwing it under the heat to melt the cheese?? My dog would have had trouble crunching the storks!! Waiting staff were pleasant so at least that’s something. Recommend to come back ……. Don’t think so , like I said maybe a drink if I’m passing.

Lovely atmosphere and welcoming friendly staff. It is positioned next to the canal, so a lovely venueI didn't try the food on this occasion, but my friends have visited regularly and said the food is really good.Trl recommend the passionfruit gin with lemonadeWe will definitely revisit, and l am looking forward to a visit in the summer so l can enjoy the atmosphere next to the canal.Parking: It has its own carpark with plenty of spaces.

A really nice traditional pub inside with good choice of ales and food. Only disappointment was the untidy and scruffy exterior of patio area of the pub alongside the canal.

A beautiful place with excellent food and caring attentive staff. The actual ingredients are fresh and the best quality, which are beautifully prepared and cooked.Everything at the Anchor is a very high standard. We definitely recommend having a visit and meal there.

Nothing was great! Food cold, lamb poor quality, service slow, poor presentation , waited ages for food and the place was freezing cold. Despite being next to fire we ended up eating with our coats
Food has been just average, service has been friendly enough and quick, the banoffie pie was really good. The mains were not necessarily impressive and my partner steak has not been cooked to perfection.

We came for Sunday lunch for a family of 4 adults; two lamb roasts and two sirloin roasts. The sirloin was fab but the lamb was very sinewy; the main problem was the carrots and parsnips, which were not far from raw, and we were unable to cut them with the cutlery provided (needed a steak knife!). The broccoli however had been boiled to within an inch of its life… would have gone up a straw.Great service from Becky and Dawn, first class!!
