Have been using the spotted cow for sometime now, never fails to disappoint be it food or drink. All staff are very friendly and sociable, many real ales to choose from. All in all, it is a fantastic country pub not to be missed.

My wife and i went up the Spotted Cow on Friday lunchtime original just for a quick drink but after looking at the Christmas menu we both decided to have the Christmas dinner. It was absolutely fantastic, everything was cooked to perfection and was piping hot, the the landlady and her daughter made us feel very welcome it was also excellent value for money, we will be coming back for another dinner before Christmas day, hopefully there will be a table available. Thankyou

After previously having had a very good meal at the Spotted cow we hired the large function room for my dad's 80th birthday meal for a large family group. The food was very good and the staff were very helpful and attentive, and the manager, Sarah was a pleasure to deal with. Heartfelt thanks for making my dad's 80th birthday so memorable.

Lovely friendly country pub. Fabulous food. I loved my Mushroom and Dolcelatte Risotto with Rocket! (Thanks David)and my husband said it was one of the best steak and ale pies he’d eaten! Great atmosphere as well, in the lovely restaurant. We will definetely be back when we’re next that way! Heidi and Rob

Stayed overnight in my campervan excellent night sleep very quiet.Went to the pub and had a very good meal and drinks.Large menu also has a large variety of beers and lagers.It has a very large beer garden and childrens play area. Nothing could be better on a nice evening.The restaurant and bar staff were very pleasant and eager to please.Will return when next in the area.Kid-friendliness: Nice play area

Fab country pub. Food delicious…. A mix of burgers (chicken and beef) and a mixed grill. Service brilliant. Highly recommend

Good Service staff, aggressive towards people including my self where the order was. At placing order there was No indication of orders will be delayed due to large party booking. Upon receiving my order food was ok. Not worth £20 paid. Go here for drinks but food very disappointing. Will not eat here again.

The service was fantastic, really friendly and efficient.The food was awful. Consistently poor for all meals. The vegetarian beef wellington was an unrecognisable splat with red sauce all over it. The haddock was supposed to be submerged in a sauce, but in reality, it was fish in whole bowl of cream. The popcorn shrimp starter was 7 prawns, probably from a frozen packet and mostly overcooked costing £8.Maybe they had a bad night, disappointing.
Food was good big portions...i had ploughmans and so much chesse...but good value....we sat inside but it felt more like a cafe not a pub...think it needed to be more rustic..but nice place

Dropped in with my wife for lunch as it will be closest pub to properties we are looking at to buy in Angmering. We were met by two very polite young ladies and shown to a table for two. All good so far. My wife ordered the Sussex Smokey and I decided on the Fish Fillet 1/4lb burger with fries. At no time were we informed that there would be a wait of over an hour for the food to arrive. After 20 minutes or so it became clear there was a large party in another area that were clearly priority customers. Anyhow we were not in a rush so patiently waited for the food to arrive. When the food eventually arrived it was well presented and looked appetising. after around a minute of the food arriving the young lady who served us asked if all was OK? To be honest I said yes but at that point I had only consumed a few of the fries and my wife was happy with her Sussex Smokey. It was only a few minutes later when I started to consume the Fish burger that I realised the fish was very undercooked. The centre was cold and impossible to bite through. I left it to the side of the plate and finished off the fries, which were very good. I was hoping the waitress would ask again how things were but unfortunately she was so busy dealing with other customers - not her fault. I didn't want to kick up a fuss as the waitresses were clearly not to blame and were so very busy. I waited until my wife had finished her meal and the waitress came to clear away the plates before I spoke quietly to her explaining it was inedible and why. It was left on the plate clearly showing it was almost raw. She was very apologetic and said how sorry she was. She then asked if we wanted to see the dessert menu. We replied no thank you and can we have the bill. I'm sorry to say that when the bill arrived there was no discount for my mostly inedible meal. I'm guessing my complaint didn't make it to the management and through inexperienced staff it is assumed just a sorry will do. In hindsight we should have been more forceful in asking for a discount but the young ladies were so busy we didn't want to upset them. The fault clearly lies with the management who should be training their staff on how to deal with these kind of complaints. On a positive note my wife really enjoyed the Sussex Smokey!

Great pub lunch the other day. Great range of food on the menu with specials too.The ploughman's looked amazing vut opted for the ham egg and chips and didn't want for more!!! Generous portion.Friendly atmosphere made to feel at home right away.Will be back.

Average pub but with above average prices. The beer is expensive and the food on the pricey side. The meals served were so so - hot fish but lukewarm chips for example. Won't visit again
