Chifoo is my go to for take away Chinese food in burgess hill. I prefer to make my order and collect in person. Its so much faster to do this and the food is always cooked quickly and hot. The chips are superb and a great addition to any if the dishes.

Best Chinese in Sussex (yes I've done the research!) Every Saturday my grandmother and I order and bar one mix up with mushrooms (that they fixed in 5 mins) it has been gorgeous.It seems they've upgraded their phones too as we get through faster - just shows how popular they are! :)

We ordered a takeaway from here for the first time. We were charged £10 for delivery which they didn't mention and when the food arrived they had forgotten to add the rice which totally ruined the meal. They offered to recompense us but it was wasted money as the meal was ruined. The duck was also prepacked rather than on the bone and it was not very nice at all. I also ordered pork char siu which has pineapple with it which is a first and was again not nice or authentic with hardly any pork. Don't waste your money!

I've been a chef for many years and travelled through asia and understand this type of cuisine.This restaurants food is not good at all. I can promise you most of what they serve is out of a bottle or can. Very little fresh ingredients. They just put their prices up and they should actually drop the prices for the garbage they cook.I can guarantee you the food is not fresh. I know yesterday's rice when I taste it. The positive comments are obviously from people who don't realise how dodge this place it.On a lighter note. They are very friendly!! But I'd rather unfriendly and fresh tasty food.In the picture try and spot the meat and veg in amongst the tinned chestnuts and bamboo shoots. The sauce was watered down out of a bottle also. Worst Kung Po I've ever tasted.
Last night will be my last take out from Chifoo. The portion size has reduced drastically and costs have not reduced in line. The ribs were tuff as old boots. Chicken balls that were mainly balls. Crispy chilli beef only filled half the container. No prawn crackers as I only spent £28!!!. Altogether extremely disappointing.

Very disappointing! Bland and tasteless food, ordered the salt and pepper chicken, chicken chow mein and Singapore style vermicelli (meant to be hot and spicy) all dishes totally bland with no flavour what so over. The egg fried rice tasted like plain boiled rice you’d cook at home with a bit of chopped up cold egg thrown in. Never experienced a Chinese like it and would not recommend to anyone. Might as well have Covid as you can’t taste a thing!

I phoned through our choice of dishes. Each one was checked with the chef with helpful comments. The food arrived on time. Very tasty. Our Malaysian friend thought the sweet and sour prawns and vegetable curry were excellent. Recommended.
