Delivery was prompt but food was tasteless and swimming in oil. Spring rolls soggy and had just a smidge of filling. Ribs deep fried and swimming in oil and dry and inedible. Seaweed swimming in oil. The most disgusting Chinese I have ever had. Avoid.

When you order king prawns with spring onions and ginger, you don't expect a box of onions with 6 prawns, which is what I got. Very expensive and very disappointing, will not be ordering again ever.

Me and my family ate here last night, my girlfriend was severely ill after eating. Avoid at all costs. Had the salt and pepper squid/chicken chow mein. The worst Chinese food we’ve both ever had.

We always get great food from the Castle Inn Hickstead, fresh cooked Chinese dishes, great flavour and hot!

Ordered from here due to a recommendation from a family friend. Something must have changed since they ate from here because I’ve never been so disappointed in a takeaway in my life. Enduring eating the mountain of tasteless, rubbery, watery mess was truly one of the most difficult challenges I’ve embarked on. I failed. Not one part of our order tasted of anything pleasant and not one of us finished the meal. After the first mouthful I knew I’d just wasted the money on an expensive lesson. I couldn’t cook a worse meal if I tried, avoid at all costs because we tried to give it to the dogs and they were having none of it.

So disappointed to see how down hill this restaurant has gone this used to be the best chinease restaurant in Brighton to eat at, ginormous fish tank as you walked in with coy Carp immaculately clean and the portions and food was outstanding, I as an adult now wanted to book a dinner for my children to have a family meal but now will not be I hope they can get back to how they used to be about 10years ago.

I've only ever had takeaway from here. It's always been good quality, but I feel that some of the portions are smaller compared to other places close by.

For years we’ve got a takeaway from the Castle Inn and it’s been fantastic but lately I’m a bit disappointed. One free bag of prawn crackers with a £60 order that now has 10 crackers in, it used to be huge! Buy an extra bag and it’s about £3!! And still tiny! Rice and chips have become extortionate, dishes have gone up to £7+ for chow mein to chicken dishes and quality is still good but this makes it a very expensive take away now especially once you add on a few bags of prawn crackers.Very disappointed in this decision as we’ll now go to a different takeaway. Such a shame

Do not eat at this establishment. My soup had raw prawns in it. My noodles were old and stale. The food arrived cold and they’d missed my kid’s food off the order. They guy we spoke to had no interest in hearing about the issues and kept repeating that it was impossible the food was substandard. Avoid at all costs.

Had the salt and pepper chilli wings. The best wings I’ve ever had. Super good duck as well but needs more pancakes.Vegetarian options: Good but not enough of them

ordered food around 7:10pm and arrived around 9:15. The duck had hardly any meat on it, mainly just bone. The cucumber had hairs on it. sweet and sour chicken was extremely bitter. All round an absolute joke, wouldn’t recommend and won’t be ordering again. Especially after spending way too much money for what we got.
