Very good but not excellent 4.5 out of 5 Just a couple of things. Food was generally excellent except the burger which wasn’t that big and was dry. Those that had lamb or venison loved it. Also service was a little bit slow. Would give 4.5 out of 5 Will definitely go back to give 2nd chance.

Birthday lunch with family what a super pub, lovely setting, interior and friendly staff. The six of us sampled a wide selection of the menu and everything was fully enjoyed. Fine wine list and beers - highly recommended.

Lovely old traditional well-maintained building inside and out. Nice and warm. Very busy but a very good atmosphere and sounds don't echo so conversation is fine. Comfortable seats, Really good tasty food. We paid £40 a head including drinks which was good value. Friendly courteous and helpful staff. 10 people for a birthday party and they all thought it was great.

First visit and wasn’t disappointed! The Bolney Stage has been on the ‘to try’ list for a while now. Lovely old building with wooden beams, big car park, lovely Xmas decor, great atmosphere. The staff were all friendly. The food arrived fast, even though they were busy! I’d recommend the lamb shoulder as the meat was so tender it just fell off the bone, and the chocolate and cherry trifle was delicious! Looking forward to coming back in the new year!

I had a Saturday lunch at this delightful country pub. I was in a group of five adults and two children. The service was excellent and we were all made to feel very welcome. The children enjoyed the food from their kids menu. I really enjoyed my food. I had a superb steak, ale and mushroom pie. Full of flavour - this was classic country pub food delivered really well. My rice pudding dessert was unlike any rice pudding I've had before. And that's a compliment! Some gorgeous flavours including plenty of coconut. I'd be very happy to return to this pub.

SO GOOD! We've just moved to the area and happened upon The Stage on a Sunday evening, assuming like all the other pubs in the area they would only be serving drinks and not food as it was after 4pm - only to find they serve all day and ended up having one of the best pub meals we've ever had! Have been back regularly since and have never not found it to be warm, welcoming, delicious and incredibly well run. Fabulous local beers means it is always busy with a lovely atmosphere and somehow the staff always find you a spot. Can't recommend enough!

What a find!! We stumbled across the Bolney Stage, when we were looking for a convenient place to meet up with family. It will now, absolutely, become our go to pub, for a meal. As a Coeliac, it’s always a leap of faith dining out, but they were absolutely brilliant, from start to finish. The menu is very inclusive, with loads of gluten free availability. They even provided a gluten free Yorkshire pudding for me, something that never happens! In chatting to our waitress, she explained that gluten free meals are prepared in a dedicated area of the kitchen. It really can’t get safer than that! Thank you so much for providing wonderful food, in a wonderful setting and with outstanding service and attention to detail.

Me and my partner visited for a meal after a recomendation from a friend, we didn't know the area well and had never been before. From the moment we walked in the door the staff couldn't be more welcoming and accomodating. The pub has a beautiful rustic cosy feel and is decorated very nicely. We had 3 courses and the food was some of the best we've eaten, the menu has an nice erray of choices and the chef clearly knows what they are doing and they do it very very well! Our waitress was lovely and very attentive and we couldn't fault anything! Highly highly recommend this pub and will definitely be back!

We visit the Bolney Stage annually for a birthday meal as a family. Good food, service and atmosphere is always amazing. High quality all around. Definitely worth a visit.

.... is once too many. Clearly busy, full of nice well to do people. Clearly felt they didn't need our business. Had I booked we'd have left very quickly, instead had to suffer rudeness throughout. Food had some good elements, but had the feel of a place losing interest in pleasing guests, much like the service. Leave it to the locals, it appears they treat them much better.

Catching up with friend again at the Bolney Stage for lunch and drink so thought let’s leave a review.. Quite impressive atmosphere. Very great service by friendly young staff. It’s was my first time here but making me feel very comfortable. Definitely food was delicious and served very professionally. They have vegetarian options as well. They have variety of real ales in cask and keg as well as spirits. Plenty of seatings inside and outside in back beer garden which is awesome to enjoy drink in sunshine. A lot of parking in front of pub. It was my friend’s recommendation and he didn’t disappoint. Sure I’m coming back again.

We came here for a Sunday roast and I have to say it was wonderful. Our waitress was without any doubt the loveliest( her name is Emma) she was sweet, attentive and very kind. The food was great, I find Sunday roast quite tricky at time as I don’t often feel full and satisfied but in this occasion it was perfect and very delicious. It’s not cheap but it’s definitely worth it. Thanks Emma for such a lovely service.
