Live locally so stopped by for lunch Christmas Eve, The quality of the food and presentation was good, but the portions were very small for the price, the pork belly was a medallion, three pieces of broccoli and one medium roasted cubed potato for £22.50. The cheese board was incredibly ungenerous with four very small pieces of cheese and 4 crackers for 12.50! The service and staff were great but overall real shame to leave hungry having spent £50pp with drinks not having had value for money, I don’t think we’ll return.

Lunch on Christmas Eve for 6 of us plus two grandchildren aged 1 and 4; excellent food; very good menu choices; nice wine list and excellent service. Very enjoyable.

Went for our work Christmas lunch.Very disappointed in the main course. Turkey was turkey roll.No bread sauce, no cranberry sauce.Only veg was kale and carrots no traditional sprouts.

Excellent value, top notch gastropub cuisine, and exemplary friendly service. We were a party of four on a midweek evening. The pub had a nice atmosphere, and the staff were chatty and knowledgeable about the menu and the specials. Two of us tried a sharing steak with a choice of sauces, which was cooked to our specification perfectly and extremely tasty. Puddings were excellent, too. Highly recommended.

We were staying close to here for a few days while on holiday from Australia. We ate here a couple of times and found there was a good choice of food and very tasty. Staff was very friendly.Parking: We stayed very close to here in B&B so we walked. But we walked in through the car park and there was plenty of spots available.

Traditional Sussex pub in a rural location. Really excellent food and good atmosphere. Would definitely recommend

We haven't been hi. We've just got back from your pub and had a nice meal but it was overpriced for what you got on the plates .desserts were overpriced too.

Fantastic Nut Roast! It is so hard to get a Nut Roast. And to get a delicious one is extremely hard. I am usually offered pasta as a vegetarian option for Sunday lunch in a lot of pubs. So thank you for providing a gorgeous Nut Roast. Quality ingredients very well cooked.

Had lunch here with friends while walking the mid-Sussex border path. I used to drink here many, many years ago and the new pub is, probably, an improvement. It's smart, tastefully, decorated and furnished but still retains atmosphere. It's a gastropub but the service was excellent, the food very good as were the beers. Reasonably priced as well. A pleasant surprise

Had a very nice lunch here with friends, sat outside with my friends and dog. Would recommend for a sunny afternoon and I'm sure also lovely by the fire in the winter ❄️

So sorry to say that I will never go there again! The food was sub standard!A goats cheese souffle that was so flat and over baked! Looked like a powder compact! I could go on and on!Feeling that I was ripped off!

The Sloop Inn - only 5 minute drive from where I live. First time there and I didn't know what to expect. We went on a Friday for lunch and got there just after half past noon. The place was already more than half full. We sat outside. We thoroughly enjoyed our beer battered skate wing, with chips, tartare sauce and dressed salad leaves. Top quality! We shared an apple, plum and blackberry crumble, with vanilla ice cream. Faultless! Portions were generous and well presented. All the staff, from the young lady taking our orders to the guy at the bar making the drinks to the lady bringing the food (sorry, I can't remember their names) were friendly, helpful and attentive. I will definitely go back and spread the word. Well done and keep up the good work!

We had an excellent meal, the staff were spot on, friendly and professional. The moule marinier was superb and a dessert with Brighton Blue and crumpets is uniquely fab.

Lovely pub and garden and the food was ok but the beer was off... and they are rude... they don't have the first idea about customer service and I felt uncomfortable being there. What on Earth is the point of a country pub if you don't feel welcome?
