Great atmosphere and very friendly helpful staff . The food was good value of good quality ingredients .The sausage and mash was epic! Despite them being really busy we were served in good time .

Great pub with brilliant staff who coped brilliantly today when many ladies from the WI Conference descended upon them whilst they also had a wedding and a bar full of regulars! Great menu and the food came quickly and was good value and delicious! Nothing was too much trouble and it was great to watch them all working as a team! Well done! ?

Shame on you The Black Jug! My partner and I sent a Christmas Day query on the 8th of August 2023 using the same email address we used to secure our booking last Christmas 2022. I started to chase this at the beginning of September as I was concerned that if you could not accommodate then I would still have time to book elsewhere. I was consistently told the lady who was dealing with it was not in and assured she was working through the booking emails. I called several times during September to be met with the same response. I called again at the beginning of October to be told the lady was looking this week and they would be in touch. I left my number and again nothing, I called again and was told they had not received my email, so forwarded it again and offered to go in to show them this email dated the 8th of August and was assured I did not need to do this as they would have my booking. I have called again this evening only to be told by Nathan they cannot accommodate as had not received the email, they are fully booked and I am 1st in line on a cancellation list! He then followed this up with "we are receiving cancellations all the time" to which I responded "then why have I not been booked in?" He unsurprisingly had no answer for this! Appalling customer service and despite reminding them we are only a party of 2, he said there was nothing they could do as they have taken all deposits for this and are fully booked!

We are here on a Saturday evening and found the stuff to be very friendly and helpful. We are not local to the area and was staying at a Premier Inn nearby as I use a mobility scooter we didn’t know how to access the pub, so my husband went in and a stuff member came out and showed us a way in and somewhere I could leave my scooter. The meal was lovely and the kitchen happy to serve me a child size meal, I also loved the half sized dessert and hot drink options great for smaller appetites or for diabetics who still want a little treat. The meal was good value and the pub still has a pub feel and vibe to it despite it looking very busy for food too. Would recommend it to anyone staying at the nearby Premier Inn as it was a much better meal and better value than the meal we ate in there the night before.

As a party of six adults who’d just visited Horsham Beer Festival, we stopped off at this great little pub for a(nother) pint and a bite to eat before getting the train home. We hadn’t booked but we were found a suitable table. The food was tasted and reasonably well priced, plus there was a good selection of beers/ciders etc. Recommended.

Disappointing meal at the black jug. My mum ordered prawn linguine with a side salad. They bought out a main meal salad but no linguine. They did eventually bring the correct meal.We ordered pudding. Took 25 minutes to arrive. Not great service. Mediocre food.

Nice cosy place to eat fresh food. The outside suits us as we do not like eating indoors - too noisy. Not cheap, but food fresh and served hot.

Definitely a place for lunch. We had 4 starters and chips. Responsibility priced, great taste, good service. Would have had 5*, no parking, fyi park at the leisure centre 6mins walk

Went here for their cider festival. Great atmosphere. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Good beers on cask including Harvey's Best and local beer Firebird Parody (as well as a large list of festival ciders). Great place

Had a lovely time in The Black Jug last night. 4 of us had a very nice meal. Doggy friendly which pleased our friends too! Great night and will be back…

One of the nicer pubs in Horsham especially if wanting food.Ideally located for a pre or post visit to the theatre / Capitol.Being located between the train station and town centre, also well positioned as a meeting place for those travelling by rail. For drivers, lots of paid but relatively cheap and free after 8pm parking nearby.I can honestly recommend especially if wanting food.Child friendly too. And, if visiting, spend some time looking at all the stuff on the walls. A few gems have been mounted!

Popped in for a vino last Friday with a friend and it was packed. Great atmosphere, lovely staff and pleasant people.Customer base seemed 30s upwards who had been working in London as its close by to the station.Lovely garden, perfect for some chips and a pint.

Very good meal indoors, then polished off another bottle in the garden. Recommended.
