Great friendly service. Fabulously battered fish and the sweet potato curry was lovely too! We all loved it and will be back!

I’ve recently been diagnosed with coeliac disease and I’m trying to work out the diet. The menu online was helpful enough but the servers were so nice and understanding, didn’t make a big deal of it, and treated it like any request. The food was yummy and it was great to know I can still have a great piece of cheesecake ?. Felt very supported and very grateful for this. The other meals were enjoyed thoroughly and I like the country pub feel there, so cosy.

Very busy boxing day with lots of families in to eat. We were a table of 15. Excellent value for money, lovely food and staff were attentive and helpful. Food brought out all together so no one had to wait. Well worth going here

Ordered roast turkey. Not sure I really want mashed swede for Xmas lunch - more like carrots, parsnips or sprouts to be honest! Warm welcome & staff polite & attentive despite being run off of their feet! Will be back soon.

Stopped by for a pint at 4pm on a Sunday afternoon. Tried to order at the bar to be met with a bit of confusion and asked if we’d booked. Apparently if you want drink it’s one of the handful of bar stools inside the door or nothing. If you fancy a meal then it does look lovely but, as we were just passing through and only wanted a drink we didn’t get the chance to find out.

Excellent choice of family meals. Amazing staff that work very hard to ensure meals are ordered and served with minimum fuss even when restaurant is really busy. Food is always nicely cooked and presented well, accompanied by a great selection of beers and other drinks. Jess, thank you for making our visits so awesome, you and your team make this restaurant so special whatever the occasion. I love Sunday lunch here, the Steak and Tanglefoot ale pie is to die for, looking forward to booking Christmas ? dinner with you and chilling out over a mince pie ? ❤️❤️❤️

I had fish and chops. Dinner was bought out in goodtime. At first i didn't see the chips they were hidden under the rather skinny piece of fish yes all 12 of the soggy under cooked chips. All at a cost of £16.75. I have had much better fish and chips in my local wetherspoons for £11 including a pint of lager. Also charged £1.85 for a glass of soda with a shot of lime in it. Total rip off joint. Never again.

What a delicious cranberry and parsnip nut roast!!! Generous portions, lovely accompanying veg. We didn't have room for pudding sadly, next time I hope. Would highly recommend to any vegetarians looking for a delicious lunch, and any meat eaters for that matter. Lovely friendly service, helpful with my sister's wheel chair. Thank you Hornbrook!

Worst pub meal ever. Overcooked, very little food and very expensive. No apology for my complaint of obvious sub standard food and chef

Decided to drop in for lunch but left very disappointed. Requested my steak medium but it came dry and over cooked, tough to eat and my husband had plastic in his meat pie! No apology or anything

Been to Hornbrook plenty of times and never had a bad meal before. Came for Sunday roast on this visit and it was not good. The beef seemed over cooked, Yorkshire puddings were burnt and the roast potatoes were really hard. It all seemed overpriced for what we got. The service was good though just a shame the food was a let down.

Service was good but food quality poor and very expensive compared to other local pubs. I was with a friend who booked the pub so couldn’t complain on the day. I paid £18 for steak frite the steak was charred black on the outside and pink on the inside looked ok but tasted burnt was so tough had to slice thinly and chew extensively it was so bad. At £18 it came with a few fries and a few sprigs of watercress. To accompany the meal I had a small bottle of Heineken Zero alcohol beer at £4 what a rip off I’d recommend to avoid this pub there are may better close by

So disappointing, not sure how they get away charging £16 for three pieces of meat (beef shin) the size of my baby finger nail, 4 pieces of carrot and some luke warm mashed potato . My daughter was told when served her meal that they couldn't cook medium rare as against company policy?? The burger was also decidedly average, on a par with Burger King. Sadly we would never venture back. We have been to several other Hall & Woodhouse pubs which are much better

arrived after a short drive . . . Its been a while since I've been to a public house which had all the characteristics I wanted . . . the friendly atmosphere, food and pleasantness of the staff. I great place for a great price for a meal out . . . . David
