We reserved a table here for diner as wasn't sure how busy it would be. We had delicious meals with plenty on the menu. The pub was quiet and the owners really made us feel welcome. Our boys loved the fabulous desserts.

A lovely village pub, passed by whilst we were cycling in the area and dropped in about 8:30pm. The landlord was just about to close up as it was a quiet night but stayed open just for us. Great service and a lovely peaceful location.

I must say that we were positively surprised by this pub. Stepping in felt like stepping in a time capsule back to 1999, which we liked. The pub looks like it has been lived in for a long time. It has a hidden decking facing the church which is much better then the one that faces the road. The food was surprisingly good even you can see that there are not a lot of people opt to eat there. A proper old school pub in a tiny village. I hope it survives.

We were part of a reasonably sized group and were made to feel very welcome. Food was great - fish platter is highly recommended. Drinks were reasonably priced and staff were super helpful.

A lovely pub to frequent in a little country village.

Popped in with a friend who lives locally, we were a little late for lunch but wasn't a problem to be served, good local pub grub and a lovely couple of pints of Youngs bitter.

Such a lovely, incredibly welcoming and friendly historic proper pub in a gorgeous part of the world. Excellent selection of real ales and ciders. Highly recommended.

I love a proper pub and this is a PROPER pub. My wife and I popped in on Saturday night for a couple of drinks before dinner. We were only visiting for one night and yet were treated with great hospitality. We were made extremely welcome by the landlord, landlady and locals. I had two things happen that I NEVER experienced in a pub before - the landlord proactively changed a beer that was fine but, as the last in the barrel, not as good as he clearly wanted it to be.He then put a new beer on and gave me a half on the house! A man who clearly loves his beer and values those who also love it! No wonder it's in the Good Beer Guide.I hope this pub thrives in the way this landlord and landlady deserve and that Rudgwick continues to have a proper pub for years to come.

This is a friendly traditional pub offering very fair prices on soft drinks. Very much a traditional pub with friendly service from licensees Has a loyal following for a traditional food menu. Not easy for access but doe have the benefit of extensive parking. Toilets spotlessly clean.

We arrived just past lunch time, so no food was being served. We were lucky enough that the owner rustled up some left over pies for us. Super friendly of him to go out of his way for two starving folk.We sat outside as we had the dogs.

Very steep steps to enter Pub not for the infirm. Reception very cold and unfriendly. No atmosphere in the bar at all just mumbling between landlord and obvious regulars numbering 4. This was a Saturday lunchtime. Very strange. The Fox nearby was busy warm and friendly, no contest!!!
