Whilst the service was relatively slow (could be that it was busy) the staff, atmosphere and food made up for it. A beautiful country pub with good ales, lovely staff and good food made it a great visit. Thank you

Lovely lunch at the Queens Head today with my niece & Tibetan Terrier.Great service. Piping hot food and a lovely atmosphere. Definitely will return.

Lovely old pub. One large, beamed, bar. Excellent ales, menu looked good. Nice welcoming smile from the young lady behind the bar (makes such a difference when you first enter don't you think!!).Beams are low, I'm 6ft 4 but fine for normal heights ?One large bar, log fire, tables for dining, armchairs and sofas for relaxed drinking.So relaxing my partner felt so comfortable she suggested we have another drink.A must visit if you are in the area.Parking: Smallish, but plenty of street parking.

Such a welcoming place. We arrived at 3.55 for a roast, not realising the kitchen closes at 4.00. They still served us an amazing roast. Thanks chef! The live music (Will) was great. Beautiful vocals.Atmosphere was lovely, buzzing and friendly.Definitely gonna become a regular customer.Parking: A small car park but plenty of parking on the main road tooKid-friendliness: Kid-friendly with a small garden and funny rabbit.Wheelchair accessibility: Yes, if a little narrow in parts and bumpy

Cash value below is drink only (had a few). Don't eat in pubs, me. Punters seem to like the grub, and yeah, there's a buzz. Very local, mind. Had a couple of blinding nights there. But the other day, yeah, very bad experience with the draught Italian lager. Gonna shut up, cos I'm known.So, yeah. If you want food and English village pub stuff.

Nice place and servers were polite, but the food was terrible. Son had Burger, came with no relish & his spring rolls were so hot he burnt all the roof of his mouth. (must of been either microwaved or air fried for to long). His girlfriend had Pasta and it was so bad she could only eat less than half of it. She felt it was so bad she complained & she would not normally do that. All the chips on the table were really dry which leads me to believe they were Air Frier cooked. After our complaint the agreed a 10% reduction on one of the meals. Definitely wont be returning and surprised they are still trading.

I must admit to being very disappointed with the visit which was celebrating a 58th Wedding Anniversary. We waited 50 minutes for the delivery of food which is totally unacceptable. The food was average but certainly not expensive .However the pub restaurant was full with a good atmosphere. Methusaleh

Such a weird experience visiting this pub for dinner this evening. Order was taken quickly and the food came out not long after but the Mini portions for kids was not mini in the slightest and one could have served 2, easily! Lasagne and chicken schnitzel were large portions but basic, even though the prices of things now are just through the roof. I don't know if our meals were worth the money we paid.The tables were really close together and because it was quite busy I felt like we were all sitting together in some kind of communal canteen...and a strangely positioned mirror meant I kept catching glances from the old man sat on the table behind me.There was a feeling of old fashioned old man pub trying to elevate itself to gastro pub... I can't pinpoint what it was, it just didn't feel quite right.Also, no takeaway boxes for the kids food so a lot of food went to waste this evening, which didn't sit right either.I've given 4 stars for service because it was so speedy and the barman was friendly and the waitress had her head screwed on right but sadly this was not a winner for me.Kid-friendliness: 100% not tiny kid friendly - but there were a few older children scattered around.

We had been invited to dinner by my in-laws, on arrival we sat down and the menu arrived on a sheet of paper saying Spanish night. Tapas menu, no other food offered, we decided to give it ago even though my mother in law had not been told it was a Spanish night when booking the table. After making our choice the food arrived after about 15 minutes, but only served 3 plates for a table of 4, as this was not traditional tapas that arrived in individual dishes you basically picked 4 from the choice of 6 dishes and it arrived on a dinner plate!! So after working out the confusion with the waiting staff that we were missing a full plate, the 3 that had food started to eat. Luke warm paella, cold chicken and Luke warm meatball, we immediately sent the 3 plates back to the kitchen. A quick bing later and the food came back, and we now had 4 plates of food,warmer and drier than before. We were now hungry so ate up, what can only be described as a very mediocre tapas offering. In the mean time 2people had walked out as had waited too long to be served. A table behind us sent their food back and didn’t want replacements. Having eaten here a few times before, it’s always been a busy friendly pub, disappointing that they need to try silly gimmick nights rather than serve good pub grub.

Family mini break (all adults) in the area, recommended to us ans was not disappointed. My wife's roast dinner could have fed two.. 6 of us quite happy with the food, service and the atmosphere..Vegetarian options: One of our family is vegetarian they were quite happy
