We’ve been eating at the Calcutta 16 since it opened. The food has always been excellent and no idea why there’s negative reviews. We went a few weeks ago, food and service were great as always. We’ve even go on Christmas or Boxing Day when there’s a set menu (lots of choice) and it’s never a problem for them to accommodate our table of 10-12. The menu has the usual dishes as well as some fantastic chef’s specials, dishes we’ve never seen before. The Naga Revenge and Kurchan are family favourites!

We ordered on a Saturday evening at 6.20pm but our food didn't arrive until 8pm and when it did one of the dishes was completely wrong and all the dishes were luke warm. We phoned 3 times to chase and every time we were told we would definitely have it in 5 minutes. This wasn't true. We appreciate it was a busy night but what a waste of money.

Excellent ! We were greeted on a very wet day with a warm welcome for lunch on Saturday. We both asked for a lamb phall which was not on the menu and it was very tasty...and hot !!Very happy with the food, service and the price !Many thanks!
Please don't order from Calcutra tonight as we have just had an awful meal. Definitely last night onion bhajis, food very cold and raita the worst thing I have ever seen. Good luck if you order from them. Our seagulls might be lucky or unlucky tonight. A very unhappy customer ?

Nice restaurant with very good food. The rice was delicious. The downside was they close at 2pm and we were made to feel uncomfortable when we stayed beyond two o’clock

There's nothing like a good Indian meal, but sadly this was nothing like a good Indian meal.The worst chicken jalfrezi I have ever had (and I've had a lot of them). Watery sauce that had a weak, weird taste and left an unpleasant after- taste, with undercooked onion and pepper. The bhindi bhaji was greasy, the rice not great.Sorry guys, but it's the truth.

Takeaway dinner, just lovely ? Lots of choices and new dishes to try, we had a chicken kashmiri, which was very flavourful and fruity with lychees. Lamb methi and lamb chattinadu were superb ? Lots of different sides and starters. Recommend the special set menu deal.
