My husband had the all day breakfast which he said was very good except the beans were lukewarm.I gad the carvery which at best was mediocre.The meat was excellent and a good portion but the vegetables were terrible.I ended up with just carrot/swede and cabbage.Also I had to wait at least 5 mins for the carver to come out of the kitchen! He hadn't gone for anything!

Had a carvery today, stunningly good food from chef Jack, everything was well cooked and very tasty,lots of choice of veg and extras the roast potatoes in beef dripping being a highlight amongst perfection. Edit ... Easily the best in the area 100% recommended.

We usually come for carvery’s but this time will be the last. We came the other night, midweek and not particularly busy. After standing at the entrance reception, where you wait to be seated, for about 10 minutes with every member of staff doing their absolute best to avoid eye contact we decided to go and find a table ourselves. There were plenty available, but every single one of them was disgustingly filthy, this is not an elaboration. Every. Single. Table was dirty. We decided to take our little boy into the play area to wait for someone to clean the tables. The play area has clearly not been cleaned for some time either. Old hardened food splatters on the walls/some of the toys. It would seem the only visible member of floor staff was too busy gassing with her visiting pal for a solid ten minutes at one of the tables. I went to try and find a children’s high chair and there were none. Probably for the best as these are usually grubby af too. It was then that we decided to just walk out and go elsewhere and vowed never to return to this grubby, filthy restaurant. We went to a different Greene king restaurant which was excellent, spotless and we couldn’t believe the difference.

Breakfast wasn't that cracking compared to Premier inn.. the buffet breakfast was replenished when we went. Not that much choice either. Lattes aren't included in the unlimited drinks like wetherspoons and Premier inn and other places. We won't be back for breakfast.

Ordered from the app thinking it would be quicker.... it wasn't. Our server turned up with the food with no greeting or platitudes.We had to ask about our drinks ... we're they coming ? We had been waiting over 40 minutes since we placed our order. Some minutes later, we were told that only bottled soft drinks were available due to no gas. The choice was extremely limited. We asked if these would be offered at the same price, and the response was a shrug of the shoulder.The food was average but possibly could have been better with a drink! Our server didn't return with an answer about the drinks.A member of management ( we knew this as she was dressed not in a uniform)came and asked if everything was OK. Our reply was no, and we explained the scenario. I was looked at as though I spoke a different language ( all 3 of us thought the same). She offered no apology, and at this point, I asked for the drinks to be refunded and accompanied her to the bar. I was told I would be refunded but could offer no receipt. She did offer us 3 soft drinks free.Not a great experience, and I won't be returning

We visited yesterday and was looked after by the lovely Emma who was a breath of fresh air. Nice food. We did have to wait a bit longer than usual and the place was rather loud down the bottom, but it's expected with kids off school.

Very friendly staff and clean comfortable surroundings.The children’s area is excellent.Unfortunately on our last family visit the carvery meal wasn’t up to standard.The meat was well cooked and delicious, but the vegetables ( frozen soggy sprouts and cauliflower, undercooked parsnips, raw braised tasteless red cabbage, mashed potatoes which wouldn’t leave the serving spoon and crusty mushy peas) were disappointing to say the least!The roast potatoes and carrots were fine.Will definitely give it a miss for a while.Parking: ExcellentKid-friendliness: Excellent

Visited yesterday and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit. The food was superb. The staff, polite and friendly. Was a pleasure to be served by Emma, who even took time to speak with our children and had them in fits of laughter. Really appreciated. Lovely place. Thank You Birchwood/Staff.

I took a coach full of people to this carvery. The staff behind bar and server at the carvery were very friendly and helpful. The meat ....I jad beef and turkey melted in your mouth delicious......the vegetables well.....every one you could think of....all hot and delicious....every kind of potato....mash... roast ..etc....the place itself is very spacious and very clean.....very reasonable price.......
Food is what you pay for, low price, low standard. Carrots on carvery like bullets and roasties appear to have been repeated several times. As an ex employee I am aware this happens. Standards have dropped drastically since the previous manager left. Some of the staff exceptional others, well let's just say they appear to be untrained and clueless. Could be an amazing place if managed correctly however all but one of the managers appear to be in the 2nd group of staff, clueless. If you need a laught, get yourself over here, if not then go elsewhere.
