Our very first visit. Only had chips. But. Must say. Absolutely brilliant. We were picking up friends from work. ( live in Huddersfield) . Quick to serve you. Pleasant. Definitely worth another visit.

Used to be good but it’s just got worse and worse. If you want fish and chips go to Johns Fish and Chips (it’s about 5 minutes away and so much better) and price is now very similar. Blue ocean used to be exceptionally cheap so you could understand the lower quality but now it’s the same price as everywhere else but worse food.

Absolutely love this chip shop, tasty chips and awesome scallop fish cakes, they actually have a chunk of fish between the potatoes, I used to go to Woodlesford for those as you don't get them everywhere but these ones beat them hands down. Fish is also nice, so is battered sausage. The staff are always friendly and still little amused when I ask for large curry sauce, mixed half Irish half fruity. Definitely recommend to try. We have 2 chip shops in our village but I will rather drive to this one in Castleford.

Fish is also nice, so is battered sausage. The staff are always friendly and still little amused when I ask for large curry sauce, mixed half Irish half fruity. Definitely recommend to try. Fish and chips were very nice BUT the Parsley Fish cake and Sausage were both RAW I complained and it was replaced BUT the fat in the Deep fat fryer needs new oil the Sausage was OK but the fish cake was Vile.

Cracking back of chips from here the two lady's behind the counter are fantastic...... They even give u batter bits here I've not seen them in a chip shop for years will definitely be going again.
