Bar & Grill in Flamborough

“Enjoyed a one night stay at Haven Thornwick Bay camping & touring site (2nd October) Our first time visiting, won't be our last. Easy to find following Sat Nav. Nice entrance road, great first impression & a warm welcome at main reception & again at Touring reception. Good signage to the camping area which is large, surprisingly busy for October. The site and all facilities were clean and tidy. Good pot wash areas inside ( warm water), laundry facilities & good number of toilets & showers & family shower rooms too. Our allocated pitch (Fox area) didn't quite suit our needs, it was a hard standing & grass pitch, we were staying in a campervan with roof top tent and would have preferred a full hard standing, so we popped to the touring reception, the staff were very obliging and helped us choose a pitch to better suit our needs. We stayed in Dragonfly area of the park. Each plot is numbered and there are named areas dependant on pitch type. The pitch we chose did still have a slight slope but we manages without levelling ramps. Other areas of the site also sloped, particularly the Tent field. Dragonfly area has the EHU/ water & waste points, we didn't need these facilities, however good to have the option to add or remove from the pitch price. The area was well lit too for late night toilet visits. Regarding the main facilities, the main complex area looks nice and maintained, clean and fresh. This is the biggest Haven site I've stayed at and the complex is there for large too, with a big restaurant, showroom, amusements, swimming pool with slides etc. Lots of day & evening entertainment and other bookable activities onsite. We visited the convenience store which seemed reasonably priced. The onsite chip shop was handy, £4.99 for large chips that served 2 people but the chips were not great. The play areas and open green areas were nice, the Boathouse and lakes for fishing or going out on the boats is a great addition to the park. My kids would have loved this place when they were little. We enjoyed a drink in the showbar and the entertainment team were doing a great job engaging with guests, great variety of entertainment for a Monday evening, more than I was expecting for out of season. We walked down towards the cliffs and this site is sprawling, with an activity walk around the outskirts, and a cliff top cafe with gorgeous views of the limestone cliffs and caves. We visited the nearby lighthouse & north landing & south landing and plan to visit next year to do some paddle boarding/ kayaking. Only criticism would be some tourer residents/ guests sitting in their awning with a Television a bit too loud too late into the night & a few dogs with guests off lead, however this is not always under the parks control.”
