My friend and I enjoyed a peaceful break here towards the end of a Saturday afternoon. The service was very good and the tea and cake were delicious. I would like to go back sometime for a lunch or afternoon tea!

We wanted a quick bacon sandwich to go and they offered a gluten free option. I thought we were on to a winner…. It took quite a while to prepare considering it was empty but I didn’t mind waiting if it was going to be good. They told me it was ready and gave me the bill. It was over £16 for 2 TINY coffees and 2 bacon sandwiches (one with egg) to takeaway. I was very surprised by the price but hoped for the best and left. They came wrapped in tinfoil like school sandwiches and i have to say, the quality was appalling. Especially considering the price. You can see by the pictures what a poor quality sandwich it is. There was barely a full piece of bacon and the bread was woeful. We had to stop by a butty van to buy some bacon to make the sandwiches. It’s such a shame because the owners were very friendly and the venue looked really nice. But unfortunately I will not be going back due to the extortionate prices and poor extremely quality food. It’s worth mentioning, I’ve never felt the need to leave a review in 30 years on this planet….until this. Shout out to Nutty Butty’s who saved the day who gave us 6 pieces of bacon for £3. #hero

A lovely place for lunch, great for gluten free. The food was freshly prepared and very nicely presented. The staff couldn’t have been more helpful and friendly. Highly recommended whether you’re popping in for a brew and cake or want something more substantial there’s something there to tempt!

I KNOW a damned good cup of tea (my gene mix of Irish & Yorkshire combined with Steampunk gives me great credentials in this) and this is highly recommended by me. Husband had a black coffee (An Americano for the cofficionado's) made on a proper machine with fresh ground coffee. The sandwiches are freshly made to order with awesome ingredients & a bread to suit every palate & even GI if you need it. I was full after mine so didn't get to try the cakes this time but I will next time. The menu has hot & cold choices to suit every palate & need. The staff are amazingly friendly and as attentive as you'd want them to be without being at your elbow every second. Hygiene is awesome, yet they welcome Walkers AND DOGS! It's across the road & up a flight of stone steps from The White Lion. Don't miss it on a visit. We'll be back.

Below average sandwich and a price on the higher side 7.60. The bread advertised as sourdough wasn't sourdough (certainly not any we have eaten before in many many places and bakeries). It was crumbly dry bloomer loaf, not that fresh and without any texture. The ham was the more processed type. Neither of us enjoyed mainly because of the awful dry bread. Maybe they were using something different to usual? We don't know. The owners serving were very nice. We would never eat here again on the basis of what we were served and wished we had gone elsewhere as it was our only visit/day. Would not recommend the sandwiches... Went for afternoon tea, its a lovely little tea room & very friendly, but was a little disappointed with the choice of sandwiches.There was a lot of sandwiches that included cheese but nothing like salmon or prawn or even egg, not even quiches. The jam & cream scones where very nice though.

Such a friendly place! Cute art and crafts and the toilet is super cool .. we ended up chatting to the people at the next table as it feels so relaxed.

We visited this wonderful cafe as a result of reading all the fantastic reviews online and we’re not disappointed! I have both gluten and dairy allergies and I was catered for so easily it made ordering a breeze. The owners were charming and had the most delicious gf bread available and vegan spread so I could still have anything I wanted from the menu. The cake selection was also incredible and offered something for everybody. Delicious food and a lovely atmosphere we would love to be back sometime soon!
