We had the beef pie and sea bream, lovely food, very peaceful, fire crackling away. Great stuff

The steak & pale was one of the best I've had! Super friendly staff. Lovely location.

We called in The Hinchliffe Arms for something to eat after a walk around the nearby dam and reservoir. It's a very nice and warm welcoming pub in a nice setting, with friendly staff. We both had the beef and onion pie with chips and mushy peas. It was ok, but we had to wait 40 minutes for it. We'd happily eat here again but would probably choose something quicker to cook.

The food is absolutely incredible the ingredients are clearly chosen with the uttermost care and attention. Every single element of the Sunday lunch, which was served at 6.15 when the kitchen closes at 6.45 was 200% perfect. Kirry and her team along with her amazing chef have turned this in to a foodies dream place to eat I cannot fault it.

Absolutely love this pub. Have now eaten here numerous times since the new management took over and have loved every meal. Had the Sunday roast today and it was delicious and we eat out a lot. Attentive and friendly service. Decent selection of drinks. Has also just had yet another decor refresh since the new management took over which is more than can be said for the previous lot!! In such a tough time for hospitality this pub is really shining - to those leaving negative reviews, please consider the costs and tribulations the hospitality industry is going through. If we don’t use our pubs we’ll loose them for good. We love our trips to the Hinch - everything is always spot on from propping up the bar to the delicious meals.

Absolutely superb! Would give more stars if we could. We’ve been here a few times recently and we can’t get enough. From the moment you walk in, you pick up on the nice friendly and homely atmosphere. The staff are very attentive and always happy to see you. We’ve eaten here four or five times now and every time it’s been nothing short of exceptional. The menu is nice and seasonally simple, which for us, as we dine out a lot is normally a good sign. This is now our favourite place. Lots of lovely places to walk locally, finished by a visit to a hidden gem! Every time we visit we’ve had a truly superb experience. Whether it be just nipping after a walk and having a few drinks to taking out our friends and family it’s been top notch.

Went to the Hinchliffe for an evening meal with some friends. We were very disappointed with the food and choice of drinks. Two of the meals contained too much salt, the sea bass was raw and the burger over cooked. The only real ale on offer was an IPA.

BEST pub in the valley! Came here for a New Year celebratory dinner with my family. Staff are all LOVELY, the food is absolutely divine and the atmosphere is so cosy. All around a wonderful experience! No doubt we will venture here again!

Travelled from Rochdale no cask beer available shocking, having read your comments when you took over welcoming all poor experience won't be back

Lovely traditional pub with open fire. Perfect to warm up after a walk in the surrounding countryside, Good food. Generous portions and good value for money.

I dont write reviews very often but the positive comments elsewhere on this page bear no relationship to the awful meal we had. Perhaps there has been a change of cook or they have lost interest in customers but either way a bad situation for a Friday evening. No point going through all the problems but one meal will suffice: a steak and kidney pie which was small and microwaved - microwaved?? - so the puff pastry was soggy and slimy, a tiny ramekin of "mushy peas" which managed to be yellow, hard and watery [inedible - at the very least just open a tin of Bachelors for heavens sake], and a small handful of chips which had clearly been reheated. Shockingly bad and we were embarrassed to have brought our daughter there. In 2023 this kind of cooking is completely unacceptable. Avoid.

My partner and I have been twice now, the first time with my parents, and it has been a delightful discovery! The staff are so friendly, the food has been delicious and the atmosphere is so cozy! They had decorated it for Halloween the first time we went and we loved all of the decorations (i wasnt expecting the fake blood writing on the men's bathroom mirror. Loved it!) They're dog friendly too, and the staff seem to love dogs so by all means bring your dogs too!Just an FYI if you plan to visit, it's tucked out of the way of the main road and the road to it is quite tight so be careful when getting to it but definitely well worth a visit!

Cosy pub in beautiful surroundings. Really tasty roast dinner and good vegetarian options. Staff are really friendly, and was no problem for them to order us a taxi back. 100% recommend and hope to return!
