What a disappointment supposed to be a treat for Mothers Day. Booked a table for 4 for Sunday Lunch. The food bill cost £120. My choice was belly pork which was tough, roast potatoes rock hard and the green vegetables practically raw. Two people chose beetroot risotto which they described as tasteless. The other choice was steak pie and described as OK. No dessert was available for someone who is lactose intolerant. A pint of beer was returned due to a bad taste. The apple crumble was very nice. All in all not a good experience.

Last minute booking on mothering Sunday was quite an achievement however; both my partner and I were accomadated which turned out to be the best meals we've had in a long time.Food cooked by someone called Andy was absolutely incredible, well worth a second visitParking: Limited parking, however; it's not something I would down grade this establishment for, it's a quaint pub in a quaint village.

Only went for a drink but was such a lovely place with nice wood burner fires as well to keep you warm and lovely staff recommend to anyone passing through.

Disappointed. We arrived on time at 4.30pm on Sunday we had a drink at the bar whilst perusing the menu. After been led to the table we were informed by the polite waitress that 2 of the 6 dishes were sold out, both of these were fish which is what we wanted. We managed to find a choice from the remaining 4 dishes only to then be told they only had available one of the three beef dinners we had ordered. When we questioned this after discussion with the chef he said he could manage two beef dinners?!? We were left with a choice of only three dishes, pork, beetroot risotto or steak and kidney pie none of which we favoured. The poor young junior waitress was left to handle this alone and at no time did any management attend or encourage us to remain so we left

5*! Delicious food, well presented, very attentive service & cosy setting. We were planning on going to a different place to eat that night but as this pub was just around a corner and the weather wasn't great for a walk, we decided to give the Butcher's Arms a go. The soup of the day (French onion soup) was very nice although a VERY small serving. The steak & stilton pie was flavoursome and the dessert mouthwatering. I will definitely visit this establishment again in the future. Thank you.

Absolutely shocking place. Food service finished at 7pm. No atmosphere, went because it was recommended by the place we were staying. Won't go back!

Absolutely beautiful looking pub, classic village look. That's where the good part ends!Arrived at 7.25pm as pub was recommended for food in a folder at our air b & b. We were told food wasn't being served as they had a large party in and that service finished at 7.30pm anyway and didn't accept walk ins!.... There was the party of 4, a couple round the corner and 2 other people in the entire place. The "large party" was 4 people and they left a few minutes after we arrived.Found it more expensive for drinks than pubs we visited on other days. Can honestly say we wouldn't go back. The customer service was dire, incredibly rude and hospitality non existent. The staff might want to consider visiting the Boshaw Trout for some lessons!

Nice pub, lovely location, good service. Don't have the belly pork if you are at all hungry. One piece 10cm piece of pork, a pipeing of mash, two stalks of broccoli, one green bean, tablespoon of gravey, two teaspoons of apple suce £20. Tasted good, However reminded me of the dark days of novell cuisine.
