Best hospitality we’ve had in the area for a long time! Lovely warm welcoming bar with excellent choice of cocktails and friendly staff. We then shared a selection of the small plates amongst our group - really tasty food and good combination of flavours. The staff were excellent. We will definitely return!

Booked here for a birthday meal with a group of friends. The food was delicious. Couldn’t fault any of it at all. Service was attentive but also subtle.

Unfortunately very average. In a really nice spot so we thought we’d give it a try but we won’t be returning - it’s a shame as the staff were nice, but the food is not worth the price. Burger came just with fries on the plate - no presentation or with no side salad or anything special, and the steak was £24 and most of it was fat and inedible. It was also not cooked to request. It tasted fine but for the price it was definitely not worth the money and there wasn’t much effort put into the meals. I think there needs to be a bit of a revamp to make the food seem worth the price!

Had a first time booking at the restaurant and an hour and half before due to be there get a call to sayComputer overbooked the restaurant so we can't be accommodated. In all my years of experience in restaurant and hotel management never had this happen.Computers are operated by humans so in other words we been double booked.I'm curious as to know how you prioritise who can still come.Your loss of my money is someone else's gain tonightWas really looking forward to trying the place out too

Went here for lunch today and it met every expectation. The food was fresh and high quality- there was also plenty of options! The owner was extremely accommodating and we had a very pleasant visit. We will be returning for a birthday lunch and recommending to our friends. Great little place!

This place has just had a “re-adjustment”. The problem it had was, slow service and good, but not outstanding food. They have now gone for a simplified menu (but still very interesting if you are a foodie), which hopefully results in quicker service…Everything we ate tonight was top notch and the service was quick and attentive.Couldn’t fault it!!!Vegetarian options: Ever tried eating meat? ?

Four of us visited very much anticipating a delicious meal having looked at the menu online a couple of weeks prior and making our booking based on the fact that there was loads of choice and several dishes we would definitely like to try. Looking again online the day before our visit there were no menus available which we thought a bit odd. Anyway we received a friendly welcome and were shown to our table upstairs. We sat for 10 minutes before the young guy serving took our drinks order but didn’t bring any menus. Eventually our drinks arrived and finally some tatty menus, some displaying prices, some not. We ordered two calamari, one pigeon breast and one soup. Enjoyed them all but the calamari could have done with a bit more seasoning. Main courses were two gnocchi and two fettuccini carbonara. The gnocchi was lovely, we all tasted and it was very nice. However the fettuccine was quite dry with very little sauce and not much flavour at all. No one checked if everything was ok or if we needed further drinks. Finally we asked for the dessert menu and were told we don’t have one, there’s only two choices, chocolate brownie and sticky toffee pudding. We decided not to bother. Surely a newly opened restaurant which describes itself as a luxury bistro with fine dining can do a bit better than this. We weren’t offered coffees and it felt a little bit like they were waiting for us to leave.

Having looked at the reviews for several restaurants in the area I booked an early table at tupelo. We were welcomed and seated by a lovely young lady who was very attentive and friendly, she told us there were several dishes on the menu not available (I would say we were probably the first evening diners so this was not a great start, however, as they were not dishes we would have chosen this didn’t actually matter). We ordered from the new Winter menu and waited with anticipation. This really was a tale of two halves: My wife ordered the belly Pork which was very nice and a decent portion size too, I ordered the King Scallops and was sadly disappointed, the Scallops themselves were cooked ok but there was a flavour I couldn't identify that overpowered everything on the plate with an earthy taste and frankly spoiled the dish - I did eat it but would certainly not recommend or order it again. Main courses arrived, again my wife’s dish, cod, was nicely presented and well cooked. I had ordered Beef Bourguignon which was simply a bowl of stew (I have had this dish in a lot of different restaurants and it has never been presented like this before), it lacked any depth of flavour and was probably 75% onions to 25% beef (not great value for a dish costing £18). The vegetables and mash were perfectly cooked. In total our meal was just over £100 - having eaten at a lot of restaurants over the years I would say that was overpriced by about £40. To sum up, if you order the right dishes you will have a nice meal however, I think that you can get better for less money within a few miles of here. We probably won’t return.

Lovely little restaurant, 2nd time of visiting, and the experience was just as good as the first time. Great menu choice, the autumn menu had just been launched so it was very welcome, hearty but not to much as to over fill you. All the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming.
