Went to get some lunch. Turned up. Wasn't greeted. Guy in front ordered. We were queued for ages. They were waiting for the chips. They served the man knowing what he was having. He had all the fish. How long for more fish? 7mins. Why didn't they ask like all fish and chip shops do when you walk in! what you want? so they can fry it ready. No idea how to run an efficient business this place.Walked out. Chippy round corner.....greeted soon as walked in, what would you like? 4mins wait. Efficient and friendly.

Been here a couple of times now and every time we have a lovely tea! The fish is really nice and cooked perfectly, I’d also recommend the battered sausage. The staff are lovely as well, they’re very helpful with any requirements you may have.

Since coming under new ownership the food here has been completely transformed. Best fish and chips for miles, although I personally think 3 different types of curry sauce is a bit much.

This was my first visit to Meltham Fisheries, and the staff were really welcoming and friendly. I ordered a large fish with chips & peas, the portion size was huge. Given that I had a fair distance to travel home, the staff also wrapped my meal foil so that it stayed hot. At home the meal was still hot and the potion size was huge, the complete meal was high quality and cooked in my opinion to perfection. I really enjoyed the food, especially the fish which was huge. I will certainly be visiting this shop again in the future. I cannot fault the service and quality of the food.

Chips very poor, looked like they were 2 days old. Have been a few times previously and not been too bad.Just getting worse lately.
