Great value breakfasts. We visit monthly and always get great service from Phyl. She's a star and runs the breakfast service well. We always get hot well cooked food and hang around for a chat afterwards.

i took my children and grand children for their advertised 2 for 1 on mains. when i got the bill i was surprised to see we had been charged just short of £50 for 4 mains which should have totaled around £22.50 and also full price for the desserts which on the menu were advertised as reduced as part of the deal. When i questioned this the assistant said its because we had chosen haddock when asked which fish. I pointed out that i had been ordering visually from the 2 for one menu and at no part did it mention this nor did the persons taking the orders mention this, the assistant just shrugged and smirked and said nothing we can do. I will be taking this further as an advertising trading standards issue. i would urge people to avoid any offers made by this establishment as being trustworthy. Especially if on a budget. We had gone there with a view to booking a larger party for an up coming celebration, however even without the con, the poorly trained staff made it an absolute no.

Went for Christmas day, probably wouldn't bother again. The table wasnt exactly set up well. We have been out for dinner before on christmas and had lovely decorated tables. We had a xracker, but the table was missing salt and pepper and surely you would have cranberry sauce set on the table ready seeing as though virtually all the meals had turkey. The order wasn't correct, each course there was something missing. The food was OK. Although the veg was very hard (I like al dente but this was just undercooked) and it wasn't the hottest. The service was OK, although we never received a checkback, but the staff was pleasant enough.

Just want to say a massive thank you to all the staff that made our Xmas dinner absolutely amazing!! The service was so good. The food was lovely we had a gentlemen called David looking after us and he was so nice, looked after us So again thank you to all staff for putting your Christmas to wait and coming to work to cater for other people. They definitely deserve a break after Xmas day they were great!

We went as a group and the food was just amazing, however the service being poor is a nice way of putting it. We waited an hour before we had to go and ask if we had to order ourselves at the bar or someone would come to us as by that point we weren't sure.They finally managed to come and take our orders and we took full advantage of the rare chance we got to see the staff to ask some more topping of the water, which we constantly struggled to find someone to top it up.The restaurant was not busy at all so there was no excuse. At the end we had cake and they left to bring us some spoons which never arrived so we had to eat it with our hands.They brought us the coffee and tea at the end after another endless wait.Good food, poor service, maybe it needs to be corrected.Parking: pro tip, you can park in the hotel parking for up to 3 hours if you eat here. I didnt know so I paid 4 pound and parked in the next big parking

This place has had a complete overhaul, new staff, food is a lot better and even the men's toilets smell nice ? Alison made our evening even better by being patient with my children and me when I couldn't decide what I wanted ? If you've been here before and didn't enjoy it then you definitely need a revisit.
What can we say about the staff at Breakfast Phyl is so welcoming and so friendly and very efficient. She has a great memory and remembers if you have been before. The morning is sit up in the right way when you come to Aspley Tale Table and meet her

Wow! We haven’t eaten here for around 5 years and what a change to the staffing levels. We had booked a table for 6pm and arrived on time. There was a family of 4 waiting to be seated before us. They waited and waited and eventually walked out. We got sat down at 6:10. Only 2 staff members on, one serving behind the bar and one serving food, drinks to tables. I cannot complement the two staff that worked the restaurant that should have had at least another 3 staff with them. They were literally running around the restaurant to serve people. They deserve a medal or at least the added pay of the the other staff that should have been here. Two staff at 6pm on a Saturday night is absolutely ridiculous! But congratulations to the two staff for keeping the place going and without losing their cool. Top marks to the two male staff for single handling keeping the boat afloat. Well done guys, just hope you are rewarded for your hard work and dedication. Staff need rewarding if ever I’ve seen them doing at least 3 jobs at once. Thank you
