DON’T EAT HERE IF YOU’RE VEGAN - can’t be trusted! Myself and my husband were looking forward to visiting here as it’s been 7 years since we last ate at Gringo’s. I ordered a vegan chimichanga and when it came it looked great, however there was something that looked like sour cream in between the salsa and guacamole, so I checked with the server that it was vegan sour cream and she said it wasn’t! Unacceptable serving dairy sour cream with a vegan meal. Kitchen staff need to wake up. This put me off eating here, was told the chef would have put it on there automatically without thinking. Well what else is he going to not think about?? Will never return and aside from the sour cream mess up, it wasn’t that great anyway. Gone downhill. Our server was lovely and very apologetic. She said she would get the manager to come over and talk to me but he never came so I’m writing it here for all to see.

Great food, great service and great atmosphere. Staff were very polite very efficient. The pit stacker burger I had was amazing and extremely filling. Laura, Maxwell and team really made kid free night relaxed. Thank you guys and will definitely be visiting again with the kids next time.

Food was absolutely beautiful, cannot fault it at all. However, the hygiene of the place were disgusting. The chair I sat in were broken when arrived, with a sharp piece of metal poking out. I then purchased a drink before food, and when the drink came the glass must have had dead flies in as there were dead flies floating in the drink, thankfully I didn’t take a sip. This were sorted and staff were very apologetic. There were small flies flying round our food and heads the entire time we were there which were extremely annoying. And finally the lights were broken in the toilets, so we had to use phone torches to be able to use the toilet. Lovely staff, lovely food, but aside from this the place was extremely disappointing.

Gringos used to be great, been quite a few times before. This time wasn't. Tables unwiped. Food standard has dropped dramatically. Had to remind waiter to bring out tortillas for the meal. Only 1 toilet working but no light and the temporary lights weren't enough. Jo tequila. And to make matters worse those who had prawns had GI issues. Changed to cash ony with no warning and booking. Half full on a Saturday night and lots of people leaving food. Won't be back

Food was pretty good. Service also not bad. But the waitress appeared quite distracted and just trotting out the same lines. Atmosphere again was nice and place appeared clean. My only real issue was they'd run out of beef, and pork ribs, and Modelo beer. I understand that a delivery might have been missed. But not great for a Mexican restaurant.

Husband recently visited while on a work trip with his colleagues. This place never disappoints. Excellent food and excellent service. The atmosphere is also spot on.

First time here and not in a rush to come back. Ordered a vegetarian Chimichanga which was supposed to contain refried beans, however it only contained cheese and very overpowering caramelised onions. The toilet lights weren't working so had to use phone flashlight. It's also cash only which was inconvenient as most people use card these days so had to go find a cash machine.

I was disappointed as i had my family come stay with us and wanted to show them Gringos as the first time i went i had a lovely time. Only to show up with the restaurant closed without any apology. I had booked a table a week prior online, showed up to a closed restaurant, when i tried to call the number from Google it just went to ‘call failed’. Thankfully the Italian place next door was more than welcoming and didnt end up spoiling the evening.

From the outset, the service was noticeably sluggish, leaving us waiting for considerable periods without attention. The kitchen seemed to be out of multiple dishes. However, rather than being informed upfront, we discovered this only after attempting to place our orders, and it took a couple of attempts to actually order any food at all. Half the drinks we tried to order from the menu weren’t even available. It's a frustrating experience trying to order from a menu with items that aren't on offer. When our food did finally arrive, the quality was really disappointing. The smoked half chicken, was chewy & overcooked to the point where it was burned out the outside. The onion rings suffered a similar fate. The pulled pork burger, which the menu described as being accompanied by fresh lettuce, tomato, and other fillings, arrived with just the pulled pork. It was clear at this point that there was no point in even trying to complain. The nail in the coffin of the experience was the payment process. As we asked for the bill, we were blindsided by the information that the only accepted payment methods were cash or bank transfer. This detail wasn't conveyed to us at any point during our visit, causing unnecessary hassle. Quite honestly, unless I hear of a management change or a new chef taking the reins at gringos, I cannot see myself returning. Potential diners, be wary and manage your expectations if you choose to visit.

They forgot about us. Offered a plate of chicken wings as an apology. Greasy onion rings and poor presentation. Pleasant enough service but not attentive at all.

Lovely food. Cheesy nachos were the best I've had! Caters for Gluten Free reasonably well, although my GF order was mixed up with a Non GF order, which would have been a problem for someone with a severe allergy as we had to swap items from one plate to another. Service was rather slow, especially for first and second drinks orders, although restaurant was not busy. Would go again to give the benefit of the doubt for timeliness as the food was good. Only park in Tescos if you're going to be in and out in less than 1.5 hours. We parked on nearby roads.

It's such a shame about this place as the food is so nice but the service is terrible. Half the drinks aren't available a lot of the time, and it's common ones like diet coke and lemonade. They even tried to pass off tonic water as lemonade before saying they don't have lemonade after it's been pointed out to them. The card machine has also been broken for weeks somehow. It's an easy fix, get a new one. No restaurant should be cash only or asking you to do a bank transaction to pay.The staff are nice and it's clearly whoever owns/manages the place that is letting it down.

First visit won’t be back, floor was that dirty it was dangerous to walk on, ordered drinks was brought a flat lemonade, food took an hour to be brought out, ordered chicken fajitas which is a pretty basic meal to get right, chicken was like nothing I’ve ever tasted n not in a good way, like cheap frozen chicken warmed back up, lots of others complaining, terrible wont be back
