My mate always recommended this place but never been, not too busy which is good (can chat) and bad (too quiet). Had pie and a couple of pints, the staff was nice and even had BT (TNT) sports on too, will go again as only down the road for sample the menu more often.

Our first but not the last visit. Our food was cooked to perfection and was beautifully presented. It was very quiet when we went at lunch time but this wasn’t a problem for us . The beer (dizzy blonde ) was also very good on a hot day. Friendly staff too. Recommended!

Relaxed nice little place, food was lovely. I had fish of day. Spot on, lovely crispy skin and accompaniments were tasty too. Everyone else enjoyed their food also, 6 cleans plates. Thumbs up from us.

Have wanted to try here for ages and we were very impressed (pub menu at lunchtime). Lydia was so helpful and welcoming and the food was lovely and great portion sizes. So many tempting choices on the menu so was hard to decide ?

Been in before for Sunday dinner. The ox check was delicious. Lidia was lovely & knowledgeable about not only the Sunday dinner but the menu available during the week. We have booked for the Al la carte and are looking forward to it! Lidia made it sound amazing and were impressed that the chef also checked in on us. I highly recommend!

Sunday lunch, enjoyed the Al a Carte, superb choice, beautiful presentation, all three courses were top class. As always Chef Richard came to table for a chat & to check all was to our satisfaction. Rachel the owner is off for a short while & her stand in manager Lydia was a delight, so welcoming, polite & happy. Love this place

From first impression’s meeting the Chef Richard after parking the car i could tell we were in for good experience. Richard talked passionately about the food he prepares for dinners. On entering The Shepherd’s Arms we were greeted by Racheal a lovely lady who showed us to our table took our drinks order and went through the Specials. I choose the sirloin steak and my wife choose fish of the day sea bream, Angela love’s fish but hadn’t tried sea bream before. The food arrived beautifully presented two sea bream fillet’s and my sirloin ordered medium cooked to perfection.

I visited yesterday for the Shepherds Arms' Steak Night with a friend to celebrate their promotion at work and were really impressed with our visit. Our food was delicious. The steaks were tender, well seasoned and a perfect medium rare and rare for my friend, pairing brilliantly with the house wine. The manager and their staff were lovely, attentive and made this a great experience for my friend and I. We'll definitely be returning to celebrate more promotions in future!

Really nice pub would return if i lived in the area.Visited for a beer and some food with wife and infant daughter, large carpark, is located at the top of the hill, staff and the locals were very welcoming.Nice selection of ales lagers and spirits. Restaurant section looked to be closed, but the lounge was bright and modern finish.Pub menu was served as per the website but they had a nice choice of specials.Had the special starter peri peri chicken samosa with pickled molis, perfect balance of curried samosa, sharp pickled mooli and spicey peri, came with an interesting almost experimental bread and charcoal garlic butter, mmm yummy main was a wholesome hearty gaint yorkshire brimmed with onion gravey and sausages dressed with a herby oil and fries on the side, was perfectly portioned for a big fella like me, may be too much for some, but a brilliant meal. Finished off with a white chocolate raspberry blondie, with a tart raspberry coolis and custard. Wife had the burger was thick and tasty, nicely seasoned. Daughter had a big portion of fish fingers and chips. Table services was efficient and friendly.Locals were nice to talk to aswell. We all left happy and full, would recommend.Kid-friendliness: Had kids chair available, changing facilities in the disabled, large selection on the kids menu. Friendly staff, welcomed kids as well as adult.Parking: Big lot next to the pub would fit about 12 designated drivers
