Great food and lovely

The food was homemade, fresh, piping hot and plentiful. The hosts are extremely welcoming and The Black Sheep is excellent! So glad to see the new management have hit the nail on the head. All in all, a very welcoming pub with great food and great beer. What more could you want?! We shall be back soon.

Sunday dinner was banging. Prices much more affordable - glad it's reopened!

We are so happy the chevin has reopened, food and staff are lovely. Obviously just in the process of renovating and bringing the old girl back to life!

Unfortunately, I think The Chevin has only been open for a few weeks, and the heating was not at its best. The room was very draughty and rather chilly for sitting about. The food was good, although my wifes' chicken dish had not been cooked through, but there was no problem rectifying the problem,The prices for our food was a little higher than expected, but in general, we had no complaints, as we realise that prices are on the increase. The staff were very pleasant, helpful, and chatty.I will go again, as I feel that the Chevin can only get better.Wheelchair accessibility: Easy access for wheelchairs

A drink with a view! Unbelievable views from the beer garden - love it!!! Only eaten here once and a bit of tapas. all really nice and staff are always welcoming.
Very disappointed with the Sunday roast, beef Chewy frozen vege and 2 roast potatoes and yorkshire puds were flat and soggy, this meal was not value for money, we complained to the manager and he was loud and aragant saying he had good reviews for his liver, don't know what that had to do with the poor meal the 6 of us had.

Food is top quality, one of the best in the area, but its very expensive now at £20 to £26 for some mains and up to £12 for some starters and desserts,Staff here have always been friendly and helpful and the dining area's are clean tidy and modern, But I have to agree with the comments on the toilets, they are very run down and in desperate need of modernising, if you are going to charge restaurant prices, you have to provide commensurate facilities.Sadly we've been "priced out" now, There are other local pubs selling food of similar high quality but at more reasonable prices.

Lovely pub but beer price of £6 was high and also order brisket beef burger but when it came was a minced beef burger so misrepresented on the menu. I didn’t realise until later.

Nice place but lacked in beer selection

We have visited for good food on several occasions and were always warmly welcomed. The menu prices were understandably in line with the cost of living but we think its important to support businesses and keep them running for local communities. Breweries need their support too in running thriving, traditional pubs and maintaining the heritage pastime of going to the local.
