The place is great...usually. It was until we were evacuated during a swimming session and made to leave the pool and head outside into the cold. I had my 2 children with me and of course we were pretty much naked. Now they did provide emergency tin foil blankets which meant we didn't freeze but we were out side for 45 minutes. My problem is that we didn't receive a refund or a free session. We were simply kicked out and nothing more was said. This is unacceptable.

A Fresh new gym and a new policy to kick the kids out after we adults finish work. Kick 'em out, the little brats

Arrived with our child to dismissively be told small pool was closed. We said there was nothing on the website and got the reply that they weren't allowed to?.... Was going to go for food in the cafe, but again abruptly told the cafe closes at 12. We've never known this before and eaten in the afternoon many times. Needs training in customer service. We wouldn't bother going again now.

My 15 yr old son has a youth membership here and has been going to the gym 3x a week at 7pm for over a year. We found out via social media that they have just implemented a new policy where youth members can only attend 3.30-5.30, so basically straight after school only. The council/leisure centre hasn't even had the decency to contact youth members to inform them of the change.

Really good when the small pool is open. Twice when i have phoned to check and been told that the small pool is open. only to arrive and the small pool was closed. Not sure if they have enough staff

This would have been 4 stars. My 14yo son has Junior Gym Membership, just been informed that they're limiting hours the under 16's can attend due to staff limitations (and possibly kids being morons on the equipment). 3pm to 530pm on weekdays are the new hours from 1st September '23 with varying hours on weekends - apparently need to check website for these hours. Kids finish school at 3pm or just after. Some have after school clubs, some walk home, get fed and go to the gym. The kids have no chance attaining these hours. No thought process has been involved in this new crazy rule for Junior Gym. If some kids are being stupid in the gyms, contact their emergency contacts and ban them. A lot of kids are serious about their physical and of course mental health and Leeds Active are making is extremely hard for these kids to exercise at their own leisure.

Nice gym but expensive for what it is. £26 a month only to struggle to get a work out in thanks to 10 year olds playing on the equipment like it's a playground....First gym I've ever seen anything like this. Not safe for young children to be using equipment and a nuisance to adult members....Not too bad if you actually manage to catch a time when it's not completely full.

For 6 months, my husband and I have brought our 4 children swimming on a Friday evening. Recently (the last 4-6 weeks), the small pool has been closed for 3 weeks in a row, which is a nightmare for us. We have one very confident and able swimmer, one semi-swimmer (who can actually swim well but due to his autism, fears being alone and stays with my husband in the water), a very novice 5 year old (who can’t swim unaided) and a 2 year old who actually swims incredibly well and by himself, with a floating vest. It’s so important, for the safety of the kids, that the youngest 2 use the small pool. Last time the pool was closed, I asked the lady on reception how I could check in future. She said to check Facebook, as it would be on there; this evening when I checked social media before leaving, there was no recent update so I phoned them. I called at 18:08 and the swim session starts at 18:15. I was told the small pool was open, so we set off with a very excited 5 year old who was going to get to fully enjoy her swimming again. You can imagine our frustration when we arrived, and were told by the receptionist that the small pool wasn’t open!!! It’s simply become unreliable and useless to us, so we’ll now be seeking an alternative swimming pool to use, which is a shame as we have loved going here for the last 6 months but tonight was ridiculous. To make matters worse, whilst trying to “swim” with them all in a pool too deep and too busy for 2 of them, our youngest 2 were enjoying some time jumping in, whilst my husband went to swim with our eldest for a little while (who was bored at the deep end on her own). As my husband and eldest returned to us, swimming from the deep end to the shallow end, my youngest was stood on the side of the pool waiting to jump in and noticed his Dad swimming closer. He ran along the edge of the pool excitedly and the two of us called for him to stop (which he did), and swam to him. He stopped at the line where non-swimmers must stop in the pool and jumped in to my husband. One of the lifeguards frantically shouted “no, no, no!!!” at us and spent the rest of the session looking at us angrily and worried. Had the small pool been open, this would never have even happened but to make such a fuss and leave us feeling so uncomfortable when he had ran a couple of meters, stopped when told and jumped safely in to his Dad, was also ridiculous. A real shame, we used to love it here.

Nice gym, friendly reception and gym staff. Unfortunately the swimming pool has got "cliques" with the regular customers and certain staff who unofficially reserve swimming lanes on the morning width swim for the regulars.
