Went there today for lunch with my friend. The rooms and decor are lovely and the staff made us feel very welcome. This pub has a country feel and a very nice atmosphere. I had lasagne, chips and salad followed by sticky toffee pudding and custard, and my friend had the beef burger, chips and salad followed by apple and rhubarb crumble with icecream. I was pleased that my custard came in a separate jug which meant I could add as much or little as desired, and I'd not even asked. We were both extremely happy with our meals and I will definitely go there again. Thank you to all at the Catherine Wheel for a lovely experience.

Came yesterday for Sunday lunch and was very disappointed. The roast beef looked overcooked and because it was methodically sliced it looked as though it had been pre cooked and frozen. The only vegetables were roast potatoes and parsnips. We asked for a plate of mixed vegetables (hoping for some greenery) and a small portion of cheesy leaks came and some stuffing with cranberries (clearly left over from Christmas). The meal was not what we expected. Staff however were very friendly and attentive.

21.12.236 family members met up here for a pre-booked lunch. Excellent service ,excellent food, well cooked, good sized portions at a fair price. One of our very favourite pubs albeit a 30 min journey from home. If you like home cooked food give it a try. Didn't stay so rooms not used.

The best roast I have ever had! Lovely village pub, friendly staff and great food and drink. The roasts are great value for money and sides are only 50p! You also get extra gravy which you don't even have to ask for. They also do custard with pudding which is so hard to find nowadays. Love coming here for a great meal.
