Six of us had lunch here for a family get together. Food included fish and chips, burger, pie mash and greens and a steak sandwich. We had joined the Butcombe loyalty scheme beforehand so benefitted from the 25% discount on food available on Wednesdays. The servers were efficient and friendly and added to our enjoyment of the very good food. The bill attracts a 10% service charge. Drink prices, in common with nearby Butcombe pubs, are high. You might get a 25% discount on food but pay a 15% surcharge on drinks compared to other local pubs. Half a Peroni £3.40 so £6.80 a pint or almost £7.50 including service. The standard Butcombe Original £5.25 compared with £4.60 in some Bath pubs. Clientele were with one exception of retirement age. Overall we had an enjoyable lunch and would return for the food. We would go elsewhere if we were planning to have a few drinks!

we stayed there for the night and it's one of the best rooms we've stayed in . Very cosy , yes the train line runs at the back but we didn't notice it . staff very friendly 9

The new upgraded Northey Arms has a lovely feel to it. The service and food were spot on. Definitely worth a visit.

Was here for our work Christmas meal this year. Food was really good. Staff brilliant. Cannot fault it. Special shout out to Shea who was a server, super friendly and engaging and also Gracie behind the bar who couldn't do enough to accommodate our wishes. Everyone made us feel so welcome, I know that should be standard but this service, In my opinion, really was outstanding. That was honestly the best Christmas meal out that I can remember. If the management look at these reviews then look after these 2, they are a credit to your establishment.

Delicious breakfast! The staff were so welcoming and friendly: they were great with the kids - chatting to them and then getting crayons and colouring pictures for them.

Recently renovated and nicely done. The staff were wonderful, the food and drink was good, if a little pricey. Would visit again if we were in the area.

Our 2 rooms were clean, modern and the parking outside the property was perfect and one of the most important factors in choosing this accommodation to meet up with friends. The staff were friendly, efficient and the food was exceptional. One member of the group had specific dietary requirements which were met with no problem. (Breakfast and lunch menu's) Negatives.... Too many automated emails about the check in and check out process AND failed to have replies to TWO emails and TWO phone calls which were made days before our stay to enquire about an early check in. Literally un-contactable by email and phone and lacked the personal touch. Having said that, I would stay again because the staff and rooms were fabulous!

The Northey has had a revamp and it is delightful. Much better layout and even the staff are happier with their work place. Not only that the food was greatly improved with more vegetarian options. We have been here quite often living near by and we will use it more often. My husband said his venison was some of the best he’d ever had and my parsnip soup was scrumptious . I had a small fish and chips which was delicious in every way. Well done everyone at the Northey, you’ve nailed it!

Lovely lunch with family. Limited vegetarian options but the beetroot risotto was lovely. Nice to have an extensive pudding menu with option for smaller portions. Staff were lovely and welcoming.

Disappointed after I had heard good things about this place after the referb, but a lot on the menu was not available, as they had run out of chicken. What food we did eventually get was excellent, but the service was terrible. Real shame.

Me and my family were here on Boxing Day without any booking and were just wowed at what incredibly friendly staff and service we received. You could see how how busy the girls were attending to each and every customers needs yet they did a fantastic job and went above and beyond. I had to ask their names before we left to make sure they both get the credit they deserved working so so hard. Thank you to Lucy and Sophie who made our family Boxing Day very special. I hope you get some well deserved time with yours. Merry Christmas everyone.

We are regulars at my wife’s favourite pub. The pub has recently had a lovely interior refit and the venue looks amazing. Our food was presented well on the plates. My wife’s soup was hot and very tasty. I had the gnocchi with squash and kale. It was an interesting plate of food. All the elements were perfectly cooked. A lovely mix of textures and taste. Nicely poured pint of Guinness, as well. Friendly and helpful staff on hand. Great place to eat.

Shea and Gracie where incredible foh team members as were the rest of the team on Wednesday night (apologies im unable to remember all your names) 3 Course festive meal was ridiculously well crafted, the best meal ive had this December and ive had lots. The boutique chalet i stayed in was incredibly impressive. The 'pub' chain is the best ive had the pleasure of visiting. Cant wait to return and i live in Cardiff.

First time back at the newly refurbished Northey Arms. To be honest didn’t think it had changed that much. Good was great, service was a bit slow and the menu greatly reduced- didn’t have trout, full fat chips, scotch egg, risotto and one other I think. Due to this we almost went home. However the baked Camembert was delicious and we both had chicken Kyiv which was very unusual but delicious
