Wonderful establishment in a buzzing side of Melksham.Liked the bar/lounge appearance, varying types of seating & tables. Welcoming staff.Didn't eat here, but will return.

A great couple of nights. A spacious, spotless room, wonderful food and cocktails. Added bonus of live music. Well cooked breakfast and charming staff. Many thanks to James, Poppy and the whole team for looking after us so well.

My wife and I had an absolutely wonderful time staying at The King's Arms. It's beautifully decorated, extremely comfortable (the rooms are cosy and warm), the food was exceptional but the thing that probably topped it all were the very friendly, kind and always ready to help staff. They went out of their way to make our stay as perfect as possible and it really couldn't have been any better. We'll definitely be back for a much longer stay next time. A sincere thank you to all the amazing staff.

The staff are so friendly and kind, and went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and welcome, even providing a breakfast tray for my husband when he was feeling unwell and couldn't make it downstairs. The rooms are warm, cosy and clean, and the pub itself has so much history. Our stay here was fantastic thanks to the efforts of the staff and I would recommend staying here to everyone.

The soup was horrible. It was watery, lumpy and flavourless. A different flavour than on the menu and one slice of bread, for same price as what was advertised as more on the menu. I said that the butter tasted strange, and she told me it was an expensive butter, uninterested in my opinion that it tasted gone off.

A lovely, cosy pub, with an open fire roaring when we arrived yesterday evening.Good varied menu, and food excellent.Attentive, but discreet service.Slightly disappointed that the restaurant was closed, but ambience in the bar area was niceFood & drinks: Good selection of beers and ciders. The Butcombe ale was tip top

Great food, service was awful, waited over 30 mins between main course being cleared and even being offered a dessert and were only offered when we went to find the server.Visited for lunch, which we booked online in advance, the restaurant was not busy (at least 5 empty tables). Our server was rude and seemed to keep forgetting we were there. Her opinion of the last course was: “I think this stuff is disgusting I couldn’t eat it” as she cleared our table!Food & drinks: My personal opinion was that the food was delicious, prepared well and presented beautifully. It’s a shame that the staff don’t agree!

I've been really looking forward to a Sunday roast out for ages and this definitely DID NOT disappoint.Everything we had was cooked to perfection and not a morsel was left on our plates. Lots of food (not like some of these expensive pretentious places!) and left me feeling full for hours after. We will definitely be back. The service was great - everyone was so friendly. Certainly the sort of place that Melksham needs.Thank you for a lovely Sunday lunch.

We had a very positive experience with The King's Arms - from the uncomplicated booking process, information given beforehand up to friendly staff at service and generally a convenient stay. Beds were very comfortable although the room itself was rather small for the price we had paid. The pub is located at the main road of the town, however since it was weekend there was hardly any traffic noise as we had worried about. The pub below serves good food in a nice atmosphere and for the breakfast we were offered delicious dishes.Rooms: The room was a bit too small but beds very comfortable. The bathroom had only a bath tub and no shower.Food & drinks: We had dinner in the pub and were happy with the cuisine. Also a la carte breakfast offered a good choice. Restaurant staff was extremely friendly.

Excellent Sunday lunch at the King's Arms. Very good service from the waiting staff and attention from the guy in charge with a lovely shirt! Good to have vegan options on the menu which aren't just the meat taken off a roast lunch. Very hot food which is a pleasant surprise after so many places seem to serve luke warm food. Excellent choice of both mains and sweets. Only one slight quibble and that was the size of the vegan wellington serving which could have been a tad more generous - very tasty though. Good place for a celebration meal or a treat. Thank you.

Lovely meal last night although both mackerel (& other dishes) not available. Service ok,2 staff walked past us twice before acknowledging us,had to ask for water, ice bucket, sauces as nothing was offered to us. Breakfast was lovely and staff were great too! Breakfast dining room is really pretty, nicer than evening dining room in my opinion.Room 3, fairly small but nicely decorated and comfortable. WiFi terrible in our room.

Nice location in the small town of Melksham, I stayed for a few nights B&B, my room #10 was very hot being right at the top of the building in the late summer heat. A nice comfy bed, TV, good wifi, nice bathroom with bath and shower. The breakfast was awesome, and you had several choices. Staff were great too!!

For those who like oldy-worldy pub hotels, this one is a must. I've had the pleasure of staying at this hotel twice and definitely would have stayed more if I could only get a booking.Like all these places. The choice of rooms is varied, so I can only comment on the two styles I've stayed in. The first is the gatehouse rooms separated from the main building by an archway leading to the car park. Loved this room (I think it was room 9) Nice, private and beautifully furnished. My second stay was in the main building on the first floor and again, very comfortable. My colleague was given a room on the next floor, which could be described as the loft, I suppose. For some reason, I have chosen fish and chips as my test food in the various hotels restaurants I find myself in and it was very nice.I think my photos will give you an idea what I mean, so no more to say.

Staff good food bland.Items on menu not available even though we were told it was a new menu. Not convinced that bread was from Hobbs House as on menu.Flavourless cheese.Pickle tasted of nothing.Offer on menu did not exist.Fish over cooked.Very small portion.Chips ok.
