Beautiful place to stay. Visited about 12 yrs ago and since has been completely decorated inside. Short walk via Country path into Salisbury centre and cathedral area. Last week enjoyed a one night stay with our son,who thoroughly enjoyed it too.

Charming very old building. The room is adequate size with full-size bed. Bathroom had very low ceiling. If you're 5'7" or taller it is a tight fit. There is only a hand held shower as no room to stand upright for shower on the wall.We were there during hot day. They have fan in the room, but really didn't help much. It was cooler in hallway so we had window open and our room door open.Great service from staff and a yummy full breakfast included.Only cons: parking lot was tiny and although sign said reserved for guests no one was enforcing the rule. We had to wait for non-residents to move a car before we were able to park. Also, if you're visiting during warm season, try to get a room on a side away from the river. Their were people up at all hours sitting, drinking, and pretty loud outside our window well past midnight.Overall, nice place to visit. Very close to town center and walkable to many attractions.

I had dinner here. Some sort of chicken pie that looked as though it had been microwaved - even if it hadn't vegetables were a small condiment pot of peas. Extra peas were available or chips. The staff tried to please but to be honest I doubt the owners would actually choose to dine here. It's food. But it's not worth making the effort to go there. Sorry.

We came here as an NHS group from Salisbury Hospital for a leaving do, parked in the Old Mill car park. The food was usual pub service; unmemorable. We only spoke with staff to check we had signed in from the parking correctly and they confirmed we had. However, despite us all entering together and entering our parking details together, some people subsequently got parking fine notices and some didn’t. When I raised it with the hotel I was told this keeps happening and given an email address to send details to. I received no response from the hotel to my email or phone call.Contesting the fines, we were told that despite proving we had been there, with receipts from the hotel at the time we parked, we did not provide proof that the machine did not record our details and other people had registered ok in that same 24hr period. That we had been offered discounted rate if we paid the fine and admitted wrong doing, basically say we had lied. We won’t do that, therefore the fines stand.Discussing this with other colleagues we discovered that this is not a one-off occurrence. Our recommendation is to anyone driving, is don’t do it unless you’re prepared to pay the fine(s)and have absolutely no contact from the pub in managing the matter.NHS staff are underpaid and overworked as it is. I could never in good conscienceask my team to attend a work function in a place where this occurs and who manage it like this.

Enjoyed a fabulous meal in the restaurant. Food delicious ?. The sound of the river water added to calming ambience of the dining room. Staff very friendly. Highly recommend.

Fantastic location, great amenities and beautiful decor. Really friendly helpful staff, especially Chloe. Breakfast was very well done, as were the stone fired pizza. Having a pint and a paddle in the river was special! I’d definitely go back.

The Old Mill is located by the water just a 15 minute walk along the river to the town centre and cathedral. It is a very picturesque old building. The Old Mill is predominantly a pub/restaurant but the bedrooms, set over the top floors, are comfortable with good sized bathrooms. The beer garden was busy the evening we stayed with a singer and the pizza oven on. However it was empty by 9 pm and there was no noise to disturb us. Breakfast was all fresh to order, tasty and well presented. The only downside was only cereals were ‘ help yourself’ we had to request orange juice, fruit etc but this was brought out quickly. The car park is small and first come, first served basis.

Stopped in for a pint on our way past. Friendly staff and good beer. Great location by the water side.

EDIT: Beware there is a new parking system in place - I got stung with a fine as I was unaware I needed to register my vehicle. We had a really lovely roast in the sunny garden here yesterday, which was our first time eating here since the new owners took over. We've been coming here for years, but it went completely downhill before it closed down. The refurbishment is fantastic and the staff are all very friendly - we were also grateful for the extra Yorkshire after our naughty dog stole one!Walkability: An easy, flat, beautiful stroll from townNoteworthy details: There is a bar in the garden. The large garden and main bar are dog friendly, but not the restaurant

This pub is under new management so the old reviews are irrelevant. Went here yesterday 28th Aug with a group of 10 people for lunch. Good menu selection, I had fish and chips, generous well cooked and delicious portion and had the cheese board which had 4 cheeses and was very tasty. Staff were very accommodating as we had a disabled person in our party. Waiting staff were attentive and poilte and food came out in a timely manner. Will be returning for a meal here

Wonderful find. Beautiful hotel. We arrived on Bank Holiday Sunday for an over night stay. We managed to find a space in the car park (we were warned it was small) but who wants to make space for cars when the place is so beautiful). We checked in and the room was lovely, overlooking their gardens. Window opens with a lovely quiet tweet of the birds this morning. We had a walk into Salisbury over the bridge of the River Nadder, the walk is a pleasant 10 mins. The staff are wonderful and chatty and fun ? We picked an evening where they had a singer outside and she was brilliant, we had booked a meal in the evening in Salisbury but decided to stay at the hotel and have pizza from the pizza area which were the best pizzas ever. I cannot review the breakfast yet as I am about to go down and eat but from what I’ve heard and what I have seen already ……. I’ve not to worry !!! X Do come stay here it’s a find for sure x x

Staff was nice but not trained properly. White wine was warm. Ice bucket had a paucity of ice and would take half an hour to get to the right temperature. Onion soup sweet. Candied walnuts had some sort of sugar on it. Leek and chicken pie seemed commercial. Too bad. Live in Salisbury. But need to get their game on

Loved the Old Mill. Great location, walking distance into town. Beautiful spot on the water. Great breakfast. The staff were delightful, particularly Alice and Debbie, nothing too much trouble.
