Excellent Sunday lunch, very high quality meat and vegetables, probably the best roast potatoes ever... Puddings if you can manage them!! Staff very pleasant and friendly. Would suggest booking as it was very busy. Dog friendly.Parking: Parking does get busy quite quickly.

Best service I've had in a pub for years. Food was good, and staff were really friendly and accommodating of food allergies. Would highly recommend

Haven’t been to this pub in ages. But as it’s under new management we thought we’d pop in. Inside the pub looks fresher and brighter. There’s a lovely new decking area outside and an entirely new menu.We enjoyed some sunshine outside. I had chicken with fennel and siracha (spelling?!) mayonnaise. Husband had lamb with hummus and veggies. Kids both had fish and chips. All sloshed down with a really nice rose. A delightful place to sit and enjoy the flowers.

The service was incredible. We came in as three families, soaking wet from a walk with 7 kids and they welcomed us in by the fire, helped us dry our clothes and opened the kitchen to fire up bowls of chips! Then he made alcohol free cocktails to keep them entertained! What a place and what service.

Lovely pub with indoor and outdoor seating. Sunday roast was great, good portions and meat was cooked well (not dry). Staff were wonderful. The light can be low as it’s in an old building with smaller windows so if you struggle with reading in low light ask for a table by a window

A visit I could not fault. Only visited to have a drink and a bite to eat and ended up having a full three course meal. Each dish presented was full of flavour and cooked to perfection. Would recommend to anyone nearish the area. The staff were welcoming and will definitely return. Pictures on this review include the n'duja scotch eggs, chilli/garlic king prawns, haddock, steak, chilli greens & sticky toffee. Thanks Matt and the team ??

Beautiful Sunday roasts... The best we have eaten to be fair, and we were introduced by friends today, will definitely be coming back. Beef was cooked to perfection, spuds and Yorkshire's incredible. A large choice of veg on offer with the meal,. Staff are all great, attentive and interact well with customers and dogs.Great walks, so you feel you have earned a good meal after. Go on, you know you want to try it out.

An absolute gem of a place. You know what they say, “you don’t miss something until it’s gone”, well, that was the feeling we had from the moment we walked in the door of the Silver Plough, yesterday. That fabulous country pub feeling with a cosy fire, a relaxed ambience and a welcome that makes you want to throw your car keys behind the bar, strap in and whilst away your Saturday afternoon drinking ales and telling tall tales….We came here with my parents for my father’s birthday lunch. My father and I had the beef, my wife had the lambs liver and my mother had the fish cakes.Every bit of the food was divine, the beef was incredible and the best I have had for a very very long time.Service was impeccable, multiple discreet check ins by the waiting staff and (I think) the lady who was the owner, and who was kind enough to take some pics for us.. even almost capturing my father cracking a smile… ?If I had to find fault, it would be that our table candle was mildly wonky, I’d say probably leaning at a degree of about 5 from vertical.. (I suspect my mother for doing that though as she seemed intent on faffing with it ?)^^ in jest obvs. The whole experience was incredible, a real step back to when country pubs were done properly, and next time we make the six hour round trip to see the parents, this place will be our go to for some R and R.Well done all of you at the Silver Plough. You should be very proud. All the best,From the family with the mildly grumpy father ?
