Excellent food and good quality for money .It was our 1st visit ,my wife had a breakfast, she could choose and I had a small breakfast .Even though it was plum tinned tomatoes it was all cooked to perfection. The service is very good and the cafe was very busy which surely tells you something. We will be calling back tomorrow for a breakfast for our journey home .I did read a bad review amongst others which stated it was a mushy breakfast.Sorry but not at all ,although some people claim tinned tomatoes are mushy but that's ok ask for a proper fried tomato instead .Thankyou to the staff at the corn market cafe

No frills unpretentious friendly cafe serving the classics. Recommended when you need a recovery full English. The bacon was among the best I've ever had!Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair access available through second entrance.

We have been going to the corn market since the Gorge closed, it was a step up originally and the food and restaurant were great. However, lately it’s gone down hill faster than Eddie the Eagle, on hot skis. Cooked food stops at 2pm so forget a late lunch, the pup serves later or all day. The chips have got cheaper and cheaper, they seem to be cooked less and they now have no appeal or flavour. Bacon resembles a flip flop in texture, and the sausages are made only of the unmentioned parts of a pig The beans are flavourless, the tinned tomatoes are mush, and the tables are increasingly stickier and stickier. Not to mention the flavourless smear on the bread, it’s hideous. The only good thing is the eggs, fresh and firm. These types of Cafes will only survive if they get the basic breakfast & brunch right, this is no longer the case at the Cornmarket. Today will be my last visit, We have stuck it out and have been loyal, but along with the other customers so obviously missing on a Saturday, We shall be going elsewhere. Frankly Morrisons or Wetherspoons is better value with more taste, and that’s hard to admit. We are sorry to give such a negative review, but it needs to be said. The product offered is poor, the surroundings are tired, and it would be of benefit to increase the standard substantially all around.

Good old-fashioned unpretentious 'Greasy Spoon' style cafe.Shame there's not more of these about nowadays.Lovely Brie Bacon and Cranberry toastie with a garnish of salad, a few chips and lovely coleslaw. Perfect working lunch. Thanks!
