Dining here is always a treat. Today we had lunch. The seating area is spacious and the ambiance always welcoming and calm. The staff, including the manager, are professional and efficient and always courteous. On the menu, there's a great choice, that changes regularly. Today, I had a Korean dish which was exceptional in flavour and authentic. The prices are competitive to reasonable for the quality they deliver. Highly recommended

So many reviews on here talk about how lovely the staff are, but how slow the service is. I have to agree. The place is so short staffed, that it’s its downfall. Food came to the table overcooked and cold, massively overpriced for Wetherspoons style food. Food was obviously sitting on the pass for way too long as there was no one to bring it to the table, and when staff were going back to the bar for more drinks, they were too thick to realise bringing the empties back with them, would be a good idea.

Visited again for a family celebration. As before everything was spot on. The food was delicious and the service was very good. The staff were very attentive and the fires were burning well

We arrived to be told the heating wasn’t working and the ladies were very apologetic. We were seated in front of the fire and were given a very warm welcome by the two ladies working despite them looking frozen. Lovely food and we were cosy in front of the fire. Thank you we’ll be back ?

We visited Saturday lunch after a walk around Wyre Forest. The fires were aglow so it was a perfect warm up. We settled in the bar area with the dogs. We didn’t wait long for food considering they were quite busy in the dining area. It was hot and tasty. We shall book in next time and dine in the main area and stay for desserts too, they looked very tempting but we just didn’t have the time. See you soon

We booked a table for dinner at 7.30pm last night, 6th January for ourselves and two friends. The website booking system allows dining bookings to be made up to 9pm. We arrived at about 7.15pm and after being glared at by an unsmiling lady behind the bar another member of staff came to seat us. Nothing about our arrival was in the least welcoming and unfortunately the customer service went downhill from there. Our friends joined us at about 7.25pm at this point I think there was only one other couple dining. Our orders were taken and both the starters and mains were bought out fairly slowly. We'd chosen to meet friends at this pub as they're not local to Bewdley but they did know where the Running Horse was. I had low expectations of the food and it was worse than I thought it would be, it was edible but that's as much as I can say about it. The server bringing it to the table was surly and chose to stand at the end of the table passing plates to us rather than trying to present it onto the table for us. This is fairly basic hospitality training and could easily be addressed, also a smile costs nothing but makes a big difference to customer experience. At about 8.55pm the lady from behind the bar, who had for the last 10 minutes been making it very obvious that she wanted to close for the evening reluctantly came to our table to ask if she could get us anything else. When we asked for the dessert menu she said that we could have the menu but the kitchen closed at 9pm and "we will have to do it so don't know what it'll be like", she then went on to say that she was "allowed to close when she wanted to" as she'd be back there at 9am this morning. After speaking to her we decided we didn't want to spend any more money with this pub so when she came back to ask about desserts we told her that as she'd made it sound so unappealing we didn't want anything other than to get the bill. I think she did have the self awareness to realise that we were not impressed so then tried to make a couple of jokes and compliment me on my outfit but her whole manner was rude and quite odd which made us all feel very uncomfortable. The customer service here was consistently bad by every member of staff who came to our table. If the pubs business model is to concentrate on breakfast, brunch and lunch services I'd suggest they stop taking bookings for evening tables or at least adjust their booking options so that customers are not made to feel that they have to leave the pub at 9pm. We would never visit this pub again.

Very welcoming and friendly, with a great menu choice and good beer. We came twice during December and enjoyed both occasions.

I really like coming here, it's always a treat. The staff are really nice and I love the food - the portions are really generous!

Lovely looking building. Very slow service, 45 minute wait for food. Had to keep asking to place our order, and the waitress was rather abrupt and said someone will be with you soon. Lasagne was over cooked to the point of being hard in places.salad was just a few rocket leaves. Disappointing. Fish and chips were nice. Expensive for what we had.

We had been doing some walking locally in Wyre Forest and decided to go for a meal, we had seen this pub on way so I initially tried to book a table whilst out and about - no luck, it kept telling me that the table I had chosen had just been got by someone else. After trying different times for about 10 mins I gave up and thought we would take a chance and pop in on way past. We got there and we really shouldn't have worried, loads of space! No idea what the website was doing.. !We ordered food fairly swiftly and it didn't take overly long for food to come out. A couple of the meals were a bit larger than expected, which with a growing apetite I think was a welcome surprise. Food quality was generally OK and service was OK too, although considering the lack of people in the pub it did on occasion take a bit of time to grab attention for another drink, or to get more sauce for kids etc.I think we were all happy to have stopped by for food and a drink, so it all worked out well in the end! Kids also got to have a short go on the play area at the back - but it was only a small area!

The food was excellent. They went out of their way to accommodate my wife. She had not been well and wanted just a plain salad with salmon. Despite it not being on the official menu they served it up. Staff were very friendly. Difficult to rate the atmosphere because it was a Tuesday evening and not very full. But it was clean and welcoming . I recommend this pub
