Had tickets for New Year’s Eve and didn’t disappoint Ben behind the bar was so welcoming and DJ was fab, playing some great tunes. Food was ample with Hors d'oeuvres to start and a fun money casino with a chance to win a prize - brilliant entertainment all round. Had a really memorable night - great start to 2024 & definitely will not leave it until next New Year’s Eve to return.

Went in for a quick bite to eat and found the Food was excellent & beer good,pub clean & staff friendly,lots of parking spaces.Well worth a visit something on every night!

Good atmosphere for the quiz night (came with a friend) but unfortunately I had hunters chicken and contracted food poisoning. My friend had a cheeseburger and was ok.In response to the comment back about your procedures if the chicken is off it doesn't matter how well it's cooked it can make you Ill. It's ok I won't be coming back again.

I love the Cavalier always have since the first time i came to this pub everyone's really friendly pub service is great food service is lovely base on what I said the Cavalier is the best pub on Offmore No doubt ❤☝️??

When i came on bens pride event, even as a young lad i instantly noticed how much of a positive effect this had on the community. It is nice to see this pub have an entertaining night which the community can go to and nice to finally see our local pub put in some effort.

Having worked in hospitality for 15 Years I know what to expect from different establishments, when I visited for a lunch I was greeted and served by the staff who were all very friendly, the drinks were as they should be and the value for money and quality of the meals were exceptional. I would like to point out to anyone reading this that this is a community pub and puts on many events weekly for the community and the staff are trained properly to enhance any visit. Please bear in mind that the pub industry is still in recovery from Covid......however, this one is steaming ahead with it's food offering, many varied events, value for money all around, atmosphere and genuine welcoming staff. Highly recommend to all as long as you remember that it's not Michelin stared, it's good quality pub fayre verging on restaurant quality. A repeat visitor that will keep visiting!

Wow! The staff went above and beyond and they were soooo nice. Not been here in a few years and it's most definitely changed for the better. Rather busy but not overly so, really good atmosphere, I'll have to go back when they have entertainment on.
If I could give it zero I would first time here today to try asked for a menu told only had one didn't know where it was do they want customers or not

Wouldn't come again personally. Group of elderly males and females with some sat vaping in the pub next to me and my 2 year old. Food was disappointing. My sons bolognese tasted like a microwave one and my meatballs tasted like cheap frozen ones. I wouldn't have minded so much but I waited 35 minutes for my food to come out when we were one of 2 tables who had ordered food. It may just be a one off but from comments I overheard from the other table it wasn't. Only reason I've given it 3 stars is because the gent that served us was fab.

Me and my partner went for Mother’s Day I booked through Facebook messenger for 1.30 pm also said I was gluten free. We arrived and our reservation wasn’t in the diary they said we could still have lunch although as it would need to be cooked fresh being gluten free, we waited 1 hour and 15 minutes. The roast wasn’t very nice. My gravy was lumpy, the parsnips were cremated and the beef was fatty. My partner’s gravy was watery, both of our vegetables were hard and my partners chicken was not very nice very disappointing as have had good meals previously. Told the lady that it wasn’t very nice she didn’t apologise or anything

Don't be put off by the exterior! Yes, it's dated. Yes, the carpark needs resurfacing but once you get inside you forget that. The staff are really friendly and make you feel welcome. The menu is extensive and the food very good. We will be back.

Absolutely fantastic meal here a few weeks ago. The new menu is really good, with plenty of choice for everyone. I chose the chilli salmon and really enjoyed it. The halloumi fries were the best I've ever eaten.The Cavalier has changed hands a few times over the years, but I really think it's the best it's ever been now that Ben has taken over. It's really welcoming and a great pub for a family meal or local night out with friends.
