This was booked for two nights for a friends wedding. The hotel cancelled the booking two days before we were due to go. Apparently they were overbooked. Absolutely disgusted as I’ve had to try and find another hotel at short notice

Rural location some Three miles from Kidderminster. Free car park space comes with an excellent tendered mature Garden to sit out in the Summer months. Bit noisy from Road traffic during the daytime only. The cottage bedrooms rooms are small but comfortable and clean withe added bonus of the use of a fully fitted kitchen to cook your own breakfast or alternately bread and butter are provided to make toast. I used the large kettle to make up my Daily travel Flask and enjoyed the complimentry Cornflake Bfast. Good value for a no frills stay

Hi and welcome to my review ?Firstly it's probably worth pointing out that this is no longer a fully operational hotel ?, it's been downsized and the restaurant closed/leased to a wedding ? company. The main house holds around 8 rooms. It's a really good guesthouse / B&B.I stopped in room 5, 4 poster double bed, good sized room, newly refurbished ensuite shower ?The room cost £80 on a Tuesday night and booked direct through the Granary Hotel website. In hindsight I feel this was a reasonable price.Free WiFi and the speed was good.Continental breakfast ? available in the communal kitchen, which had a dining table, washing machine, fridge etc which is available to residents. No restaurant but there is a pub (Hare and Hounds) very close by, within a 5 minute walk, it also has a car park, and very reasonably priced food. See my other review ?If you are booking and require wheelchair access, please contact the hotel direct and they will accommodate you by providing a ground level room.I hope you found this review helpful ✅? please give it a like ✅?? ❤️

6 of us arrived for our 2pm table reservation y'day, closed! Deserted, no explanation on the door, yet Web site is still live. Not impressed as we had a confirmation email from them. Last year they cancelled us last, but at least they let us know. Extremely poor and disappointing ?

It saddens me to be writing this review, but I feel the management of this venue fail in the ability to react in a professional manner when receiving constructive criticism, instead deflecting blame onto the complainants with absurd claims and lies that I feel to be slanderous. My Son and Daughter-in-law recently married at The Granary, they had become concerned and stressed leading up to the big day that they felt the need to raise points with Khalid to ensure these could be put right for the next couple. The day was absolutely beautiful, from the pretty setting, wonderful weather and the plentiful, tasty food fit for an army rather than the 50 in attendance for the Wedding Breakfast. The day was almost definitely one to remember, such a special happy day enjoyed by all. Tinged with sadness due to the absence of the Father of the Bride, who fought so hard and to walk his daughter down the aisle. Down to the bitter after taste following a meeting with Khalid and Pippa. The following points were raised - 1. No written contract ever received. 2. Three weeks before the wedding a cost announced of £500 for the ceremony to be held outside. This was a surprise to the bride and groom, being told it was for the labour cost of chairs being set up outside, rather than in???? The then said chairs with covers and flowers failed to materialise!!! (Refund received) 3. Cost of turning a normal double into a family room, changed with each guest calling? With my daughter being overcharged, the 2 beds she was supplied would not even fit in the room. 4. Above point - beds unfit for purpose, fold up camp beds with springs missing or falling off during the night. My grandchildren had 1 sheet, 1 blanket and no pillows between them! 5. Red carpet entrance was disgustingly filthy, that was put out and hoovered as the groom's party were arriving! 6. 45-minute wait at the bar, with 3 staff and 1 till to serve 150 guests, unbelievable. My husband missed the couples’ first dance due to waiting in this queue. 7. The Villa was double booked even though it was offered for the date, and my son and daughter-in-law were expected to pay to 'rehouse' these guests in a neighbouring hotel!!!I 8. The Villa is a great touch, obviously a lot of money has been spent on this refurbishment but it has not been finished, toilet seat in our room broken, the shower flooded the whole of the bathroom and there is a hole straight through the wall in the bathroom. (Room 2) 9. Not all guests received food on the evening, children were refused food. (Apparently food is removed at 21.30pm, no announcement made to be honest during a wedding reception you generally do not watch the time). 10. Cake removed for cutting without the Bride and Groom actually conducting 'cutting of the cake!!! 11. There are many others but will leave with this, additional guests were transported from a nearby hotel, set up by The Granary via minibus, there was unfortunately an accident in transit with one of the guests being hospitalised due to internal bleeding! (Khalid would not disclose company used and the driver failed to report the accident). Luckily, we have been given the details by a previous Granary client. Another guest involved in this accident still needs to use a mobility scooter to get around due to an injury suffered. This is how Khalid and Pippa chose to respond to some of the points! - 1. Disputed not sending out contract. 2. Groom was apparently abusive, due to his guests waiting 45 minutes to get refreshments! 3. The full amount of food that was booked and paid for was not done due the waste in the day. How dare you make that assumption, the food was paid for whether waste in the day or not. It was not for you to make that decision. There were 150 guests in the evening, some went without! 4. Wedding organiser told bride and groom were asked to cut cake twice, I can confirm that did not happen, I was sat next to them both on top table all day! 5. The injured guest should have put their seat belt on, unfortunately she had just shut door of minibus as the driver

Stayed one night whilst travelling back from week in N Wales and had a 'stop-over' visiting son who lives in Kidderminster. I had a room in the Villa which is a 'self-serve' unit of 5 rooms. Recently refurbished to a nice standard. Room was comfortable but basic - think Travelodge - but no information on wi-fi code or check out times. No phone in the room for emergencies or to contact staff if needed. The breakfast facility was more like a hostel and not what I expected. It was nicely furnished and obviously brand new but still a communal facility with 'help yourself' cereal and sliced bread in opened plastic bags. Jars of jam (opened) and a sink full of dirty dishes. I passed. I knew that the hotel has recently changed hands but not sure what it is trying to be. Reception only staffed 2pm-8pm and no other staff around. As a lone female traveller I was a little unnerved to be told that there were 3 other male guests staying in the Villa with me - I didn't see them - but guessed they had left the dishes in the sink. I am all for giving the place a chance to 'find its feet' but I won't stay here next time I visit. With Hogarth Stone Manor down the road, this hotel needs to decide on an 'identity' quickly and grow into it if it is going to survive. I know it was once a lovely venue and Covid has taken its toll on businesses which is why I have tried to be fair in my review

What can i say about our wedding here on 29th July 2022..wow ..amazing. magical..best day of our lives..we booked 2 years ago and due to covid it was pushed back..during this time the hotel had new management and we had seen a couple of negative comments so called and asked for a meeting..all our worries were talked through and we were put at ease..then we booked an appt to meet the new wedding planner pippa 2 weeks before the wedding and knew instantly that she was totally on the ball..she did not let us down her communication was fantastic and she did everything possible to make our day so special..we had no hiccups and everything ran like clockwork. The only slight niggle would be the queue for the bar but we did have a large wedding so maybe at the next large wedding another bar team member would help..but all in all our day was perfect and we wouldn't change a single minute of it. The team worked so hard and made our day special. Thank you to all the staff

Where to start. I attended the wedding of my brother and sister in law. I will say the day was brilliant. Unfortunately there has been a few issues that have come to light. And the way my brother and sister in law have been treated has led me to write this review. Apologies in advance as it is quite a lengthy review. They had to change the date of their wedding due to sadly the brides dad passing away. The granary seemed helpful with this at first. As it came closer to the wedding the bride had booked the villa for us to stay- immediate family. When I rang to pay for my room they over charged me as The bride had been given a set price. I had booked a family room. Which hadn’t been set up and I had to chase members of staff for the extra beds for my children. The room wasn’t big enough to fit the two camp beds so alternative arrangements had to be made. The villa is lovely and such a great idea. But it just needs some finishing touches and to be ready for the guests. I have made separate points to include every issue. But there are many more. The bride and groom had to pay for other guests at the hotel to have rooms elsewhere as they had double booked the villa. Not something you expect to do for your wedding when it is sold as exclusive use. She was then told she would have to pay for the wedding to be outside this had not been discussed when she originally booked. The day before the wedding when The bride went to set some things in the room she was asked 3 times about paying the extra for the outside ceremony. She told the members of staff that she was waiting for someone to come to pay. But they kept pushing her about it. The wedding day went lovely or so we thought. The bride had a meeting with the granary after to explain the points which had not gone correctly in her eyes. This has been met with hostility from the granary. I will say the food we had for the wedding breakfast was lovely and couldn’t fault it. There was too much. We had to try and move the table around to fit it all on. There was no coffee served with our dessert either which I found odd as there was cups for this on the table. But the buffet on the evening was lacking. Two children had asked for food and they where told no ad the buffet had ended. It wasn’t announced they where serving and when the bride spoke to them in her meeting she was told as we hadn’t eaten all the food in the wedding breakfast they had made the buffet smaller despite there being around double the amount of guests for the evening party. Staff members cut the wedding cake. And left it on the side. The bride and groom have no photos of them cutting the cake. The bride and groom weren’t informed by staff that this was happening. It was taking 45 minutes to get a drink at the bar. To the point a few guests missed the first dance. when the groom complained about this a staff member who couldn’t pour a pint was put on and then disappeared. In the meeting with The bride and the granary. The bride was told that her partner was abusive to staff at the bar. He wasn’t. He was understandably upset that his guests where stood in a line for a long period of time to try and get a drink. The bride was also told that the guests who attended their ceremony where drunk and unruly. I’m not sure what wedding they watched as this was made up of business owners, health care professionals and children, Oh and two police officers. Who from the wedding video you can see all sat down quite peacefully and enjoyed the ceremony. She was also told that the registrar was going to stop the wedding due to our behaviour. This is a complete lie and has been taken further. She was also told that a member of the wedding party had assaulted a member of staff on the evening when they asked for the air conditioning to be put on. This was a male member of staff asked by a male guest if he could pop the air con on. He put his hand on his shoulder to lean in to ask due to the music of the evening. This guest is a gentle giant and would never put his hands on someone in that way. Especially at a wedding. I was with him w

Under previous owners it had good food at a good price, friendly staff and recently had major refurbishment. Not the most characterful building if you like olde world Tudor timbered charms, but still a very nice place to eat and was one of our regulars. Then the ownership changed and things became very different, it's lost a couple of points point due to chaotic attempt to book a table via e-mail. First response advised me they were closed on the requested day and offered alternatives, I accepted one and received a response that they'd check availability and get back to me. Several days later I chased them and was advised by a second person that they were closed on the day they'd just offered me and suggested some other dates, neither were any good. At that point I gave up and booked elsewhere,Reading some of the recent reviews makes me think I may have had a lucky escape.

We got married here in June. Started off with my husband getting to the venue the night before the wedding to find that the bridal cottage we had been promised exclusive use of for the duration of our wedding had infact been booked out to random people who we would now be sharing our wedding night with. The night before our wedding was fair enough even though we had been promised exclusive use of it then too it was something we could deal with, however to find out our wedding niche was to be shared with random people was incredibly upsetting. Seems the owner is just out to make as much money as he can. I’ve seen other reviews saying that this has been done to other couples too! Incredibly disappointing. The day itself of our wedding was perfect, Abie and the rest of the staff made our day exceptional and we really enjoyed ourselves. However, the day after the wedding we were told in our package and the price we paid that we would receive a bride and groom breakfast complimentary. 3 other members of our wedding party had booked this breakfast too so that made the total of 5 breakfasts needing to be delivered. Two of the guests in the hotel received their breakfasts at 9am. Both said it was a really enjoyable meal. 10:30am came and the other 3 breakfasts hadn’t arrived. After finally being able to contact someone at the hotel after several attempts of nobody answering we were told the other 3 breakfasts would be with us shortly. 1 breakfast arrived. We rang back to find out where the other 2 breakfasts had gone to be told that the chef had gone home and we would need to share that one if we wanted anything and if we didn’t want to share there was nothing they could do as the chef had already gone. Bride and Groom did not get breakfast as agreed in the price we paid for our package. Overall our wedding day itself was perfect, however the management are extremely disappointing and need to make it clearer during the wedding meetings if they’re suddenly going to change their mind to get more money out of people.

AVOID AVOID AVOID please do not book your wedding or special event here. We’ve ended up having to change our wedding to a far better different location. When originally booked back in 2018 (under different ownership then) the granary was a lovely venue, such a shame it’s gone done the pan with the new owners. They have sold the land off without informing us containing all of the accommodation and expected our guests to stay at a hotel down the road. Turned up for meetings and no one came! The place is in a sorry state, i along with many others that I know too have lost thousands due to this place and it’s just not fair. They are taking our money and they have done absolutely nothing. Would not surprise me if they were closed next year.

I photographed a wedding at this venue on Sunday 29th May, the whole day was perfect from start to finish, the rooms were lovely and clean, and refurbished to a high standard, the food was amazing, the staff were attentive and very accomodating, the grounds are beautiful, everything you could want .
