On the recommendation of my family, I went here with my girlfriend on the evening of Saturday January 20th. Was a posh, smart looking place, but also with a casual, cozy feel which suited us perfectly. The menu was well thought out, beautifully crafted, and original. Both of us were impressed with the quality of our meals (the crunchy tasting calves liver was my particular highlight), and the unknown soup/pie of the day added some mystery and something different. But the most impressive aspect was the waiter/manager charging me nothing for my rice pudding to atone for accidentally forgetting my cheese sauce earlier on. Most would have charged full price for my dessert, or knocked off the £2.50 (price of the sauce) off the total, so was pleasantly shocked when he made this gesture. (NOTE: Don’t expect this to happen every time. I am just one person describing my first visit to the place). I give the place, food and staff top marks, and we will definitely be back for more.

We live locally and have been 3 times since the new ownership and refurb. It's fantastic! The decor is perfect - such an improvement. And the food is outstanding, with lovely attentive staff. Tried different foods each time - have not been disappointed. Seabass particularly good. Lovely wines. Masses of attention to detal - including food presentation, and even the crockery is beautiful. Just the right balance of smart and casual - feels a treat to be there but not remotely stuffy. Highly recommended. Going to try the Sunday roast next!

Firstly we'd love to thank all the staff for the excellent service we received on our visit. What a pleasure to see the tables laid for dining when you enter you know what the they're about not just a quick pint and out. Great to see the owners allow the hard working staff to take their break and enjoy their food in the main dining area not pushed out the back. Well done to you all and a very Happy New year ? ?

Called in three times now since The Kings Arms reopened, and very impressed! Great refurb, with attention to detail, that gives a true "country pub" feel. Staff friendly and efficient, couple of good real ales and reasonably priced wines. Not eaten here yet, but food arriving at tables looks very appetising. Keep up the good work!

Rather stupidly mistook this beautifully decorated establishment with a bar and drinks for a pub! Asked if we could sit at the tables (there were plenty) just for a drink and were told they’d been set for diners and no real alternative options. You are either drinks or food it seems and we were feckless drinks only! We found a settle in the corner then proceeded to try and order a drink- person at the bar was gazing over us at the rest of the pub and managed to pour us a Guinness that we hadn’t ordered “it was a Guinness wasn’t it?” Nope! She did ask if we were dining with them though ? We drank our expensive drinks whilst three waiting staff took their breaks of food nearby, one sat at a made up table! Very strange and unwelcoming feel so won’t be back and will reprimand ourselves for not going to the Crown and Sandys- always a welcome there, you can use reserved tables for a drink and I’ve never seen staff eating in the pub! Such a shame!

Having tried all the other restaurants in Ombersley we were anxious to sample the newly refurbished Kings Arms. Our table of 4 for lunch was in a corner by the kitchen door which didn't suffer from the draughts or bar customer proximity mentioned by other reviewers. The new menu looks really exciting and our starters of soup, tempora fish and Scotch egg were really good and our mains were at the better end of pub grub. The experience fell apart by the mediocre service. Our waiter seemed rather disinterested and we had to ask for the sweets menu having been abandoned for at least 15 minutes. Instead of the menu we got the bill so we had to try again! This may have been a busy lunchtime for them but there is just too much local competition for them to let their guard down. And it's not a cheap lunch - for £40 per head with a soft drink only - it has to be worth it to keep customer loyalty.

Exceptional. At last, a house pie with a pastry bottom not just a puff pastry top. An exciting new menu. Congratulations to the new owner, Tim Hopkins. Hope it continues to impress.

My husband and I have visited the King Arms several times under different management and our previous visits we have been extremely disappointed but not this time, this time our experience was fabulous, there was a great atmosphere and buzz about the place and the food was fantastic, very tasty, great choices on the menu too! It’s so nice to have another great place to eat in the village.

Visited yesterday dissapointed had high expectations food was ok but not amazing considering prices also we had a5 dogs in our small area of dining I love dogs but do not think they should be allowed in the evening. On the up side our serving staff a young lad and girl were fab not sure if we will go again soon.

3 couples dined last night following the reopening of the Kings under new ownership. We were served by Katy, who could not have been more helpful. Food was beautifully presented and delicious. Portion sizes were perfect for me but a hungry man may have been disappointed. Prices very reasonable as long as you don’t want a steak!

An attractive old pub with nice decor. Recently opened after a closure prior to new management. Called for Sunday lunch today, and the food was good and served quickly and politely. Front of house staff appear disorganised and unsure of procedure. Although open time was 12.00 noon, the doors were still shut, and we had to knock on the window for attention. Staff were still cleaning up on our arrival, and we had to eat our meal whilst one staff member continued to noisily sort cutlery into the drawer!! Having said the above, we plan to visit again when (hopefully) staff will understand the procedures and be prepared.

What an utter shambles. We read the Kings Arms had been taken over and had high hopes but couldn’t have left more disappointed. The service was dire and incredibly cold for a new establishment, the food mediocre at best. I’m not sure what they’re hoping to achieve here but if they’re trying for poncy dining, then at least back it up with something worthwhile.
