Really disappointed when we visited over a week ago now. We was really excited to go and see the new refurbishment and have some food, however it was sadly disappointing. We reserved a table beforehand, when we got there we queued up the bar for a while as there was no one by the door to ask about our table, when we finally got served up the bar we asked about our reservation and they hadn’t reserved a table and it was quite busy in there, thankfully we managed to get a table… there was no reserved tables at all. Some of the food weren’t worth the price it was a small portion, we literally got one crispy onion on the one burger and there was no point in telling anyone because there was barley anyone on the floor and service was very slow we waited quite a while for our food. The cutlery was also dirty. To make matters worse I even emailed to say about our experience (not wanting anything in return just to give feedback) and we didn’t get an email back not even to apologise for the service. Sadly, we will not be returning.

Came here for lunch and meals took a long time to come out even though there was only 2 other smalls tables in. When my meal did come out it was missing items. Pea shoots that were limp rather than salad and the chicken was rubbery. I told the girl at the bar the issues and was told she’d get the missing items brought to the table. Nothing was brought over and issues weren’t rectified. Staff were just stood at the end of the bar talking awful service. Do not recommend!

Arrived with my family consisting of 2 under 3 year olds so needed 2 high chairs which were filthy and covered in chocolate which in turn covered my white jumper in chocolate staff were great then food arrived and my partners had small blue bits of plastic in staff again were great and changed the meal but by the time the second one came we had all eaten so she ate alone. Then my partner went toilet and they were filthy. It's a shame as the staff were great but the hygiene is poor and there's no excuse for having foreign objects in your food.

Unfortunately, my recent visit to the oak tree was far from satisfactory, and it pains me to have to write this review. Firstly, the wait for our food was excruciatingly long, with no explanation or apology from the staff. When our meals finally arrived, the disappointment only deepened. The quality and presentation were not what we expected from a place with such reputation; it seemed as though little effort had been put into preparing our dishes.Additionally, the state of cleanliness left much to be desired. Our table, along with several others, was not cleared promptly, leading to a cluttered and unappealing dining environment. This lack of attention to basic restaurant hygiene and organization significantly detracted from our dining experience.While I understand that every establishment can have an off day, the level of disregard for customer satisfaction we experienced was unacceptable. It's disheartening, as I had high hopes based on previous reviews. I sincerely hope this feedback is taken constructively so future patrons do not share the same disappointment

For a pub that has just reopened the kitchen service was disgraceful. We ordered food and never recieved it. Waited over 45 minutes. People who came in after us and ordered food got served before we did. Out of 3 meals they only after 30min bought littel ones chicken out but no fries. Then still when we asked where rest meals were they said were on way . But again we never recieved them so we paid for drinks and left.

Wasn’t very busy but had a wait of 40 minutes for a starter would have been longer if we had not asked , we were then told there was a wait on food orders , when the food did arrive it was nice and warm , and our waitress was very pleasant ,The room it’s self was freezing cold , not a great selection in drinks , and the gravy I have no words the strangest texture ever ,we have been but don’t think we would go again

Visited The Oak Tree Restaurant today for lunch with my daughter and partner.Lovely relaxed ambience, pleasantly decorated. Good staff and attentive.Food great we all enjoyed our meals!Steak & Ale Pie, Chicken, Chicken Kebab meals.Chocolate and Banana Pie.Good prices.Lovely Easter greeting as you come through the main doors.Very suitable for dog owners, baskets, treats provided!Parking: Plenty of parking upper level and ground level.Wheelchair accessibility: Fairly level flooring and easy access for those using a wheelchair, pushchairs for young families.

On boxing day we unfortunately got let down last minute due to a chef issue, then went back again another time and got told no food at this point we were very upset, angry and confused.However, we have come back today and I will say the service we got was absolutely amazing, the staff were kind and generous, they have definitely made alot of improvements. The staff seem more at ease and not so stressed because things was not going right.The food was 10 out of 10, portions was amazing, the quality was good and it was pipping hotWill defo come again thank you very much

Went out for a family meal on Sunday for my nephews 18th and it was all so smoothly done, all the staff were lovely and accommodating especially Stacey. The food was all brought out at the same time and everyone enjoyed their meals. The price was all fair for the quality of the food. Would recommend for large group bookings.
